Since the 1990s, there had been a continuous backlash against the effect of globalization. However, critiques of liberalism and neoliberalism are not new; they date back to the capitalist discussion of Karl Max. In this essay please explain the theory of economic structuralism and its critique of liberalism. (1) What are the key assumptions of economic structuralism? (2) What are the major arguments of Andre Gunder Frank (Dependency Theory) and Immanuel Wallerstein (World Systems Theory)?
