An artistic approach of style and movement that shaped history Using Abstract Expressionist artist Mark Rothko’s Slow Swirl at the Edge of the Sea and Dada Movement artist George Grosz? Metropolis – Describe and analyze these, put them in historical context, and make use of related primary texts to illuminate the works. Try to relate these two works to modern, antimodern, postmodern and/or show how the pre-World War II work and the postwar work operates under different assumptions. Include a discussion of some key terms and issues from our course that are relevant to these works.
