Do you have any connections where they can interview a person about the topic? Have you read an article on it lately? If so, where?

Why do we brainstorm a student’s response? Brainstorming is important because you don’t know what you don’t know. This is an example of how brainstorming can help you write your paper. A student came into class frustrated because he had just found out that he needed to interview the person about whom he was writing a paper. It was a small piece of the requirements that he hadn’t read clearly. As he was explaining this to his peer, she asked whom he was needing to email. He told her he was writing his paper on the CEO of a major hardware store, and he had to actually talk to an interview with the CEO. His hopes of earning an A on this paper were quickly dwindling. His peer reached down to her phone, clicked through a couple of pages and handed him a phone number. She said, “Here is the number of the CEO; he is my dad’s best friend. Just tell him you are my classmate.” The student called him the next day and earned an A on the paper
The point is this: by using the discussion forum to get to know your peers, you may find out that one of them is an expert on the topic you are choosing to write on.
