Specific Disorder for Mental Health Problems Paper on Specific Disorder. During the first week of class students will choose mental health problems that are typical of those social workers address in mental health settings.
NOTE: To complete this assignment you will need to create a specific “client” in order to best identify which assessment instrument would be most appropriate for the problem. I strongly encourage you to present the details of the specific “client” to the instructor for her “ok” on this “client”. In this assignment students will explore the current “state of science” regarding social work interventions related to the identified problem. Students are to explore interventions that are supported by evidence, rather than “practice wisdom”. Students should therefore seek literature reviews and meta-analyses for their given topic as well as current research studies. In a 10-page paper, in addition to presenting the results of their search, they will present one intervention (suggested as a preferred intervention) in “how to” fashion related to their “client”. That is, the administration of the intervention should relate to that specific client- not how it is administered generically.
