Challenging Settler Colonialism by Indigenous Canadians How have Indigenous peoples in Canada challenged settler colonialism?
This 5-page critical analysis will explore the following question: How have Indigenous peoples in Canada challenged settler colonialism? In answering this, students are required to engage James Sákéj YoungbloodHenderson’s article (will attach) and at least three additional readings or films covered in the course (reading attached). Students are welcome to draw on academic articles not listed in this syllabus but should limit this to no more than three outside sources(any outside sources used must be academic in nature, which means they are published in an academic journal or by an academic press).
Hints: Discuss and situate what you see as the authors’ major contributions and theoretical approaches. Rather than simply summarizing the readings/films, you are expected to make arguments that you substantiate with evidence from the academic sources. It is expected that students will include a statement on their positional.
Students are expected to use The Chicago Manual of Style,17th Edition and footnote citations (not in-text citations). All papers must include a bibliography.
