Child Care and Reflection on Childhood For this paper, you will be reflecting on your childhood and thinking critically about each of the microsystems in Bronfenbrenner’s bioecological model of human development.
You will describe your own life experiences within each of the microsystems (i.e. family, ECE/school, peers, community, media) and reflect on the impact that these microsystems had on your socialization outcomes (i.e. values, attitudes, motives & attributions, self-esteem, self-regulation, morals, gender roles). Additionally, you will demonstrate and apply the knowledge you have gained about a wide range of socializing influences on children by answering two important questions that have framed our thinking throughout the semester:
What do children need to thrive? What is your role as an ECE teacher?
