This assignment is designed to:
-Help you get a head start on your research.
-Help you formulate a topic, thesis statement, and develop a rough organizational structure for your paper. This is the time to identify a theme, genre, or period that you would like to research and write about. You are not restricted to focusing on only one theme, genre, or period, but it may be easier to develop an idea by thinking in these terms.
