Crisis and Gospel
Formulate a thread to answer the questions at the end of the following scenario: You’re called as a crisis interventionist to the hospital following a fatal DUI accident. As you arrive, you meet a man whose wife was killed in the accident. You discover by his language and tone that he is angry and wants nothing to do with God right now. Based on Jesus’ exemplary model of a crisis counselor, what is the best way to approach this man as a crisis interventionist? Do you think it’s okay to discuss the theological importance of biblical salvation with this man immediately following the car accident. Why or why not? Use Wright’s descriptions of Jesus in Chapter 1 and Scriptural passages of Jesus’ meetings with others in crisis to support your answer.
