This paper has two parts.

#1 The outline/proposal of the final term paper (1 page) &

#2 The final term paper critical review (9 pages).

#1 OUTLINE OF TERM PAPER (1 page)

PROPOSAL SECTION:

Write a ONE-PAGE proposal describing the idea for the term paper.

This outline should specify/include:

1. Summary of the policy document chosen (Ethiopia’s policy of ),
2. The focal health determinant ( ),
3. The geographic region of interest (Ethiopia),
4. 4. The disease/disorder that the final paper will address ( ).
5. A strong thesis statement, evaluate 3 points.
6. A reference list containing academic references (75%) should be included.
7. It is expected that a total of 15 references will be included.
8. Write 1-2 sentences about the relevance of each reference under the citation in the reference list (i.e., the rationale explaining WHY the source has been selected).

#2 TERM PAPER (9 pages)

CRITICAL REVIEW SECTION:

Write a NINE-PAGE term paper that CRITIQUES the policy document that was proposed in the Outline Term Paper Proposal (above). Read the global health policy document critically. Examine the document and challenge it. Examine the structure of the document, the types of reasons or evidence used to support the conclusions and whether the author relies on underlying assumptions or theoretical frameworks.

The term paper must include the following:

1. Must answer the question:
2. What type of policy is it? Why does it exist? Why was it created? Background information on the location region and reasons for the global public policy.
3. Did the policy document accomplish what it set out to do? WHY or WHY NOT?
4. Was the policy document effective? How was it effective?
5. What things did the policy document include? What did it NOT include? Was it missing something?
6. Include the thesis statement (from the outline above)
7. Reference at least 15 sources that are mostly research articles (at least 12) that are RELEVANT to the policy document. For example, find sources that are about things that happened in Ethiopia as a result of the policy document.

#2 TERM PAPER (9 pages) CONT’D

STRUCTURE OF CRITICAL REVIEW:

1. Introduction and overview of policy document.

OTHER NOTES FOR PAPER:

The paper must be well written. It will be marked on the

1. Clarity and validity of the argument,
2. The structure of the paper, and the
3. Quality and flow of the writing.

The term paper and outline should be:

1. Double spaced,
2. 12-point Times New Roman font,
3. 1 inch margins,
4. Sources utilized should be referenced using APA 6th Edition formatting.
