and after reading the article about Trump’s selective view of the sovereignty in UN speech, Trump’s hard shell thesis of ” I will always put America first” and encouraging other leaders to do the same for their countries was indeed a selective definition of sovereignty.
Trump’s defiant speech coupled spiced with threats and denunciations discredits UN’s principles of equal rights and self-determination of peoples enshrined in the charter of United Nations.
I am afraid that if other countries/states follow Trump’s ideology of “American’s first” in the name of sovereignty, there is will be more human rights abuse because these countries can claim “this is our business” and no other country should interference in our political and economic affairs.
