- include an original title
- double space. leave a space between title and first line. leave only one space between paragraphs not two.
- the essay must me in 12 point font.

- include a counter argument to the one you are making in each body paragraph.
- make sure to include two quotes for each body paragraph to support what you are trying to say. do not let the quotes dominate the paragraph. cite them correctly with the authors last name and the page number at the end.
- each body paragraph should be at least one page long.
- restate the thesis in different words in the closing paragraph. leave the reader with something to think about in the end. a statement of opinion is usually stronger then a question to conclude an essay. make sure to give Orwell credit one last time. what is the point of the novel? what is it meant to teach us?
- make sure to read the essay out loud to make sure the
sentences say what you want them to say.
