Grading and Reporting Student Performance Grading and reporting student performance is a task every teacher will face in the classroom.
However, it can easily become daunting to collect enough grades, fairly assess student progress, and make students and parents happy with grading guidelines.
For this assignment, find grading guidelines for a school or district in which you wish to teach. They are usually posted on the school website or in the student handbook. You might have to ask a friend or family member who is currently teaching what their grading guidelines or policies include.
As you read the policy, do you think it is fair for students? Are their opportunities for students to retake missed or failed assignments? What changes would you make based on our course reading or additional research?
Explain your response, citing specific examples or research-based rationale for support.
