
Implementing Change management

It’s important to consider how you would go about implementing the change with reference to appropriate change management, leadership and quality improvement theories/models.
Your report should be a means of informing and persuading people as well as initiating change.
It should be written in the third person and not include personal pronouns such as ‘I’ or ‘we’
It should be written headed sections.
Please refer to the Level 6 marking grid to ensure that you are meeting the academic requirement for this level of study
SUGGESTED FORMAT
Tittle of change proposal – No more than 50 words that distil the essence of the report
Introduction: – A broad overview of the change proposal, what you are seeking to achieve.
Justification for change which you have identified from practice.
Briefly identify the change model/s you will be using
Background: – Provide background information and explain why the change is needed at local level and any evidence to underpin this. This could include local/national policy, patient feedback, audits etc.
Implementing the change: – (This will be the main body of your proposal and can be sub-sectioned into a logical order that will complement the change project)
Remember that you will need to:
- Critically analyse and explain your chosen change management model/framework
- Discuss the tools you would use to support your chosen change management proposal e.g. PDSA,5 whys and fishbone
- Justify and explain your leadership approach in relation to the relevant theory.
- Discuss and define the impact on other people using the concept of coproduction and also remembering that changing one part of the system will have a potential impact on another part of the healthcare system.
- Discuss how change will be evaluated, for example what measures will be used.
- Discuss and evaluate how the change proposal will enhance quality of care for service users.
- Suggest ways of rolling out and communicating the proposed change.
Conclusion: – Summarise why the change is important, highlight the challenges and what benefits you expect to see and the importance of leadership in successfully delivering your change proposal.
