American grammar with MLA DOCUMENTATION
For this assignment you are going to write a basic essay in which you give examples and evidence to support your main idea (your thesis). Be sure to follow the steps and format that was presented in the beginning of the course – that is the Basic Paper Format that was provided in Week Three
Using the videos from Adam Ruins Everything and the reading Conventional Wisdom is Often Dead Wrong as inspiration you are going to DEBUNK a commonly held BELIEF.
In other words – you are going to write a paper in which YOU ruin something.
The topic is entirely up to YOU. (My suggestion, you pick a topic that you know very well BUT you are constantly encountering people who do not understand it – you know those issues you find yourself saying: That’s not how it works)
BUT just like Adam – you MUST have sources to support your thesis. (You must have 3-5 sources and the paper must be about some commonly held MISCONCEPTION.)
Remember, you’ll be working on this simultaneously while you’re meeting with me about paper #1 – and possibly doing a rewrite. So plan accordingly.
