Assignment Brief # 1: A Research Proposal
Assignment #1 encourages you to go through the process of selecting a research topic relevant to the field of International Management, and, through engaging with available theoretical and other literature, to develop an understanding of the research context and its significance.
You will also develop research questions and feasible research objectives, taking into account factors such as resources and timescale.
While the literature review itself is part of Assignment #2, the introduction to the topic and the research context needs to demonstrate awareness of relevant literature and theory. The first version of all research questions and any relevant hypotheses should be outlined in Assignment #1.

Even though it is still a draft, the structure of Assignment #1 should include all necessary parts of the final research project up to the end of the introductory chapter.
The abstract, keywords, table of contents, introduction to the topic with outlined research questions, objectives and any relevant hypotheses should all be included. However, at this stage, the abstract will be an abridged version of your final abstract, simply summarizing the research focus, importance and objectives.

A research proposal is intended to convince others that you have a worthwhile research project and that you have the competence and the work-plan to complete it.
Generally, a research proposal should contain all the key elements involved in the research process and include sufficient information for the readers to evaluate the proposed study.
