A position paper is an argument of sorts. What I am looking for is for you to explain your position on a topic, then support that position. What counts as support? Logic, academic scholarship, religious/faith-based documents, laws, professional codes; in short, there are lots of ways to support your position. I do expect at least two academic sources (your text does NOT count, but it certainly provides you with thorough bibliographies) in each paper. By academic research source, I mean an article in an academic journal (Journal of Applied Communication Research, Communication Theory, etc.). The journal does not have to be from the Communication field, but it must be academic. You will also cite sources for materials you use to explain/develop your topic (newspapers, magazines, internet). That’s appropriate, but those do NOT count in your two academic research sources.
