You will be completing two sets of these.
One option would be to do a search and find two jobs that you could currently apply for. A second
option is to complete the job search and find one job you could currently apply for and find a “dream job” that you hope to apply for once your schooling is finished. Either way, you will end up with two resumes, two letters of applications, and two company profiles; a set for each job.
Below is the list of documents you will need to submit for this assignment.
1. Job Advertisement: You will need to provide a copy of the advertisement for the jobs. If
you were not able to find your future job in a current job search, you will need to provide
some information on what that job is.
2. Company Profile: Research the company you are applying to and complete a company
profile of the place. This should include the type of business it is, locations, when they were
founded, services offered, kinds of products, number of employees, clients served, and any
other pertinent information you learn about. This should be a paragraph in length with a
minimum of 5 sentences. You will need to provide a profile for each company.
3. Resume: Prepare a resume for each of the jobs. They should be relevant for each specific
job. The resumes need to be different either in how you format them and/or organize
them. Consider doing one in reverse chronological order and having the other resume be a
skill based resume; or you can adjust the layout. Make sure you prepare a resume in response
to what the job is asking for.
4. Cover Letter: Prepare a letter of application for each job. They should be specific to the
jobs you are applying for, so they need to be different. The letter should respond to the
advertisement, so tell them who you are and why you are the best person for the job.
Remember to use the proper letter format and to send the letter to a specific person.
Other things to consider as you complete this project: remember to use keywords, action verbs, and to pay
close attention to what the job description is asking for.\
