In your Week 2 journal entry, be sure to:
- Describe which major epistemological tradition mostly closely relates to your own understanding of the origin and acquisition of knowledge.
- Identify at least one learning theory that emerged from the epistemological tradition you described.
- Summarize your selected theory in your own words.
- Share something that confused you, or still confuses you, about your selected theory.
Ask a specific question that your peers or professor could address to clarify your confusion or otherwise support your work.

An important step in your ID journey is your ability to describe and apply different theories that provide the foundation for ID. In this assignment, you will compare and contrast cognitive information processing, social learning theory, and connectivism. In your paper, as you relate the similarities and differences of these three theories, be sure to explain how you can apply these theories to your ID practices. As an instructional designer, you understand the impact a picture, graphic, or figure has in aiding understanding. Thus, ensure that you have three or four visuals in your paper with explanations of each.
After you have completed your analysis, think about which one or more of these learning theories you may want as your choice(s) in your Signature Assignment in Week 7. Remember that all academic papers require an introduction that states what will be covered in the paper and the purpose of the paper and a conclusion that summarizes the key elements covered in the paper.
