The written assignment you produce should be well written and supported by appropriate argument and evidence. The answer should be clearly structured. Before starting you will need to familiarize yourself with the topic. The seminar slides, set text and reading list are helpful sources. It is essential that you reference all material that you use within your written assignment whether it is a direct quote or you have used the source to support your discussion. Referencing correctly will avoid plagiarism, which has serious penalties, and it demonstrates that you have read widely to support your work. This written assignment should be based on researched academic material that requires referencing. It is also expected that the written assignment is heavily informed by elements from your e-portfolio. These should be provided in the Appendix to your written assignment and cross-referenced in the written assignment.
With respect to the e-portfolio: it is expected that you will provide entries that contain content pertinent to the four bullet points above. A minimum of 10 entries is expected. These can be new entries, or entries that were made last term. The entries should be made over a period of time. If you have yet to add anything to your e-portfolio then then please make one entry a week between the w/c 14th January and the w/c 18th March. The e-portfolio will then provide a record of the manner in which your thinking and understanding has changed. It is also a mechanism by which we can periodically interact. I will endeavor to comment on at least one of your entries every two weeks of teaching.
