Leadership Readiness Reflection
Self-assessment and self-awareness are very important tools/concepts for leadership in nursing. Throughout this course, you will be given many opportunities to assess yourself in different areas. This will allow you to realize your baseline and to promote your own growth in the areas of leadership and management in nursing. Even when we feel confident in an area, growth can still occur. This assessment will get you off to a good start! 🙂
1) View the required videos for this lesson along with the reading.
2) For this assignment, we will be following the self-assessment steps provided in the leadership readiness video. All responses will go on the worksheet provided below.
• Use a personality assessment tool – Go to the website 16personalities.com and complete the questionnaire. Be honest with yourself as you move through the questions so that you can get a useful report at the end. When you complete it, there is an option to have your report emailed. This will give you easy access if you need to come back to it at a later time.
• Complete a personal SWOT Analysis as explained in the video to assess your self-awareness. It will be very helpful to have your report from the personality test when completing this SWOT. Again, being honest with yourself and thinking critically as you move through this will be beneficial.
• Reflect by answering the questions on the worksheet.
