Macroeconomics Privatization Advantages PRIVATIZATION: There is a trend toward having for-profit private contractors perform services that were traditionally delivered by government.
Two examples are schools and prisons. From an economic perspective, is this a good idea or a bad idea? Why? From a societal perspective, is this a good idea or a bad idea? If there are any advantages to privatization, are they outweighed by any societal disadvantages? For example, if privatization does save the government money, is there any harm that still makes it a bad idea to privatize.
