Media Fake News Travels Faster than the Truth News Create 4 to 6 paragraphs In the era of “fake news”: Why do you think misinformation/bad news travels faster than the truth/good news?
How can we, as communicators, help halt the spread of misinformation?
I understand that this can be a politically charged topic–but I want you to avoid the politics and concentrate on the FACTS.
Why this is so prevalent and what can we as communicators do to keep facts the focus?
I welcome examples of when misinformation has spread and how a company/brand has corrected it–or the flip side, and example of when misinformation spread and was NOT adequately addressed by a company/brand. Sources are welcome (legitimate), but this needs to a be a balanced, well-thought-out response. I am looking to you to offer solutions, not just decry the situation or assign blame.
