1. Brief written analysis of a live performance of Caribbean music. Performances are only valid if seen after the first day of class. (August 27, 2018)
Guidelines:
•Attend a live CARIBBEAN music performance.
•Get the performer’s names, instruments they play, solos, lyrics, songs, etc.
•Talk about the music style/s, performers, the audience, the instruments, performance program and organization.
•Describe the performance: Musical genres and styles, performance dynamics, its texture, the interaction between performers and audience.
•Discuss performance space and its environment: theater, club, bar, restaurant, concert hall, church, etc.
•The performance information and your interpretation of the experience should be at least 2 double spaced pages, using a 12-point font, and black ink.
Not acceptable:
•Subway or street performances (platform, subway car, etc.) •Live streaming of concerts on the internet (Youtube, etc.) •Watching a DVD of a concert
•Listening to a live radio broadcast
•Writing about a concert you attended prior to August 27, 2018
Use at least three (3) quality references Note: Wikipedia and other related websites do not qualify as academic resources.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
- Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
- Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
