Content
This assessment will be a typed 2000 word proposal for a sport science support service.
To begin with you will write a review of the current research and practice in sport science support highlighting good practice and areas that need additional research. Tip: You should look for gaps in the research in order to help justify your own proposal (700wd).
Secondly, you must select and review one of the following disciplines and then discuss how that discipline would be implemented into the sport science support service that you are proposing (700 wd):
Physiologist
Biomechanist
Psychologist
Lastly, as with any support service, there are ethical issues that need to be considered before you carry out your proposed service. In this section you need to provide a detailed account of any barriers you may face related to ethics, as well as how you intend to overcome them, and what may happen if you do not (600 wd). Use relevant research articles to explore previous ethical constraints in sport science.
Remember: This is a proposal so you need to survey all the obstacles in order to be potentially given the go ahead to provide your support. This is common practice in sport science.
Once approved, you can then go out and provide your service with a team or individual athlete. You can provide this service as a group or as an individual sport scientist. Remember to keep a log of what you do as this will help in assessment two.
