The purpose of this paper is to provide the opportunity for the student to:
examine the elements and processes of professional nursing practice to continue to develop skill in scholarly writing using APA style
to provide an opportunity for students to examine and incorporate ideas from academic literature in their work.

The paper should include the following:
A discussion of elements of professional nursing practice that are found in the literature.
Your personal definition of professional nursing practice that shows understanding and synthesis of information from a variety of sources.
Choose one element of professional nursing (as described in the literature) and provide a discussion of how a nurse incorporating this element would
benefit the recipient of care (patient). Use a concrete example to illustrate.
Choose a different element of professional nursing from the one used above, and provide a discussion of how a nurse?s failure to incorporate the element
could result in a negative outcome for either the recipient of care (patient) or the nurse (or both). Use a concrete example to illustrate.
Hint:
A concrete example does not have to come from a book or article. It simply has to be something of a real and practical nature. This must not simply be a
general statement, but rather a specific situation. Think of a kind of situation in which the nurse would enact (or not) the aspect of professional practice
you are describing. Describe the action of the nurse and the resulting potential outcome for the patient. Hypothetical situations are quite acceptable.

Students will be expected to write a scholarly paper using APA (6th ed.) style. The paper will require a title page, appropriate page numbering, citations,
reference page, correct grammar and spelling. The paper must be typed, double-spaced, use correct margins and spacing. Publication Manual of the American
Psychological Association APA (6th ed.) is to be used as the source book for style and documentation of references.

Must use correct editorial style as identified in the APA Manual (6th ed). It is the student?s responsibility to find out how to format the papers
according to this style. The following are expected. If more than 3 errors occur in any of the following, all marks allocated to that section will be lost.
