The Emergence of the Red Power: The Origins of Chinese Communists Group and its Domestic Foundation
Specific Insurgent Group that I want to research on:
– Chinese Communists (China to 1949)
Questions that I intend to explore:
1. Which factor or combination of factors best explains why an insurgent or terrorist group emerged in the country in question?
2. What were the main factors that led people to join this group, once it emerged, as “regular” terrorists/ insurgents? What was the typical recruitment process?

The paper should begin with a brief introduction, no longer than 500 to 1000 words long, informing the reader of the questions and group chosen and then provide the reader with a brief overview of the history of the terrorist/insurgent group in question. Otherwise the paper may be structured in the manner seen as best to the student. All pages must be numbered. A few additional notes in this regard:

Sources which are not in English must have beneath them their translation of the details of that source into English.
