Using the, Nostra Aetate [Declaration on the Relation of the Church to Non-Christian Religions] and Sacrosanctum Concilium [Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy] Chapter 1, Section 1 only (The Nature of the Sacred Liturgy and Its Importance in the Church’s Life):
- Give a brief overview of the Second Vatican Council and identify at least three reasons why it was convened (don’t just tell me what took place, but why it took place).
- Using Nostra Aetate and Sacrosanctum Concilium identify briefly how each of these documents reflect a specific goal of Vatican II (be sure to cite directly from them and then explain in your own words)
- Finally reflect upon whether or not you think these changes/reforms were important and/or necessary for the Catholic Church? Overall, do you think they have been effective?
