UC Application for Transfer Student 1. Direction: All applicants must respond to two essay prompts ? the general prompt and either the freshman or transfer
prompt, depending on your status.
Responses to your two prompts must be a maximum of 1,000 words total. Allocate the word count as you wish. If you choose to respond to one prompt at greater length, we suggest your shorter answer be no less than 250 words.
2. Transfer applicant prompt: What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field ? such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities ? and what you have gained from your involvement.
3. Prompt for all applicants: Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?
I am an international student from Hong Kong at Foothill College. I am planing to transfer to UC this year. I am majoring sociology.
Please indicate that I am not care about my city but also care about my country -Last Summer (2012)I got a summer job that work for a invisalign dentist called DR CHIU CHONG PO, KENNY as an assistant.
-I am getting involve in many volunteer works. Last summer(2012), I have joined the Community Health Care Project for Homebound Elderly from Hong Kong Red Cross.
-This Summer, I joined a volunteer teaching program in Xi’an, China. My job is to teach elementary students about basic English math
– Explained why I my GPA is low for the first year especially English. Because I did not get used to the new environment.
