Creating an annotated bibliography is a great way to strengthen your research skills. In part two
of the three-part project for the course, you will locate scholarly sources related to the topic you
chose for the American History Opposing Viewpoints Project: Summary Assignment, learn
how to format different types of sources according to your writing style guidelines, and assess
each source in a written annotation.
INSTRUCTIONS
Based on the topic you chose for the American History Opposing Viewpoints Project: The Boston Massacre: Provoked Self Defense or Justified Riot Met With Bloodshed
Summary Assignment, conduct a search for:

1. A scholarly book written by an academic in the field of history. Scholarly books should
   be located from the Jerry Falwell Library (avoid selecting children’s books!).
2. A peer-reviewed journal article focused on your topic. Peer-reviewed journal articles
   should be located from the Jerry Falwell Library (avoid selecting book reviews!).
3. A scholarly website – look for sites with URLs that end in .edu (university), .gov
   (government), or .org (organization), as these are deemed more reliable for academic
   research. (Avoid websites with URLs that end in “.com,” as they are commercial
   websites and not appropriate for academic research at the college level).

Write a 1500-word essay addressing each of the following points/questions. Be sure to answer all the questions for each bullet point completely. There should be five sections, one for each bullet below. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you address in that section of your paper. Support your ideas with at least three (3) sources in your essay. Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page do not count towards the minimum word amount. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.

Reflect upon the historical factors and the current healthcare dynamics that lends to curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation. Additionally, review your assigned readings, as well as additional resources, to answer the following essay prompts:

Conduct a literature search on EBSCO and/or CINAHL related to the history and evolution of nursing curricula.
Summarize two key events. How do past, present, and future events frame curriculum?
Compare and contrast the different types of curricula that prepare entry-level nurses.
Describe two innovative curriculum and/or teaching strategies for implementing the curriculum.
List one or two barriers to implementing a curriculum, identify strategies to overcome the barriers.

This is a research proposal on the above topic.
The research proposal should include:
-A clear research question
-A short statement based on the literature to say why the research is important or interesting
-A description of the methodology including comment on how you would go about collecting data (taking into consideration sampling, gaining access, nature of the participants if appropriate, etc) and do the data analysis. Give reasons for your choices.
-A statement of ethics considering risks and means of mitigating problems.
-References for in-text citations
-An appendix with indicative research instruments as appropriate (e.g. observation schedule, questionnaire, interview schedule, or whatever).

The bulk of the word count should be spent on the description and rationale of methods and the statement of ethics
