National Approaches to Human Resource Management Should differences in national approaches to HRM be understood in terms of national ‘culture’ or ‘institutions’? Critically discuss this question with reference to two recent examples.
This assignment has been designed to assess the following intended learning outcomes:
- Differentiate between different types of international HRM strategy and their implications
- Explain how MNC home and host country characteristics shape international HRM.
- Critically examine questions of gender equality and inequalities in international HRM practices and policies.
- Analyse factors that affect the strategic choices in companies’ location of their workforce.
- Understand the role of international labour institutions, labour standards and labour law.
- Apply CSR principles and practices to International HRM.
Each seminar will focus on one theme or issue that is relevant to the assignment questions. It is essential that you read the chapter before the session.
