Information from the New York Times newspaper is one method of identifying what is going on globally in terms of women’s health issues. The newspaper is available for free on campus and you can also access it online. Identify a recent article (i.e. within 3 weeks of each of the due dates of this critique) with la ink(s) to global womenís health from the New York Times.
- Paper length ñ 3-4 pages double spaced, not including: cover page, reference page, link to or attached article, and any other attachments that support your critique
- Provide the link to the article or a copy of the article as an attachment to your critique.
- Use APA format for the critique. Remember that APA format is more than a proper citation list. It guides you in your writing and building an effective argument.
- Find two scholarly articles from your discipline/profession that address the same subject to assist you in assessing the accuracy of the newspaper article, provide additional information, and cite them according to APA style.

- Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the article. Was it accurate? What was left out of the article that you believe was important to include? Was the topic sensationalized or slanted? Was the author biased and why do you think the author was biased?
- How does the article relate to the seven domains of health and other course content? What are the education, research and/or policy implications of the issue covered by the article?
- What content from the article and your 2 professional articles was new to you?
- End with a concluding paragraph that summarizes your critique.
