Strengths

The facility is well equipped with research materials such as readily available and fast internet and two libraries which contain a number of reading materials and the necessary required library support.

The facility receives funds from donors which will enable the facility to invest in researches and literature reviews.

The facility has several staff members who are versatile in matters related to research and literature reviews since most of them have the experience in such matters. All of the staff members are also familiar with computer databases.

The facility is sponsoring some few members of its staff to do masters degrees in courses that will help them improve in their evidence based practice.

Weaknesses

At times the funds from the donors are usually limited and research and literature review is usually not done to the fullest of its capacity.

There is usually limited time on the part on the staff members. Evidence Based Practice (EBP) usually requires adequate time to the practice of which this time is inadequate.

There is a lack of dedication and commitment from some of the members in the practicing of EBP.

Opportunities

There is training that is being offered by the state health department in skills in literature searching, this will equip the staff members with more knowledge that will help improve EBP

The facility has planned to initiate departmental funding based on EBP. This provides an opportunity for members to be proactive.

Threats

There is a likelihood of very huge and busy workloads on the staff members since the EBP is cumbersome.

There is a lurking difficulty to sustain the changes brought about by the improvement of the EBP or even transferring the enthusiasm to the staff.
