Use of force effect on Mentally Ill People Research question: Does the use of force have a higher effect on mentally ill people or on people of color?
Police administrators, researchers and community members share many concerns related to the police use of force, including proper training and legality of its use, and accountability of officers who have engaged in such behaviors. In instances of police force, concern for the safety of police officers and citizens is paramount. When suspects resist police authority or force is used, the potential for injury is always a serious consideration.
