Early Childcare Research Paper Assignment

Early Childcare
                   Early Childcare

Early Childcare

Develop a clear summary of the issue (10 points): Based on both articles that you read for Paper 1, provide a brief and well-developed summary of the expansion of access to preschool in California. Then, state clearly which developmental domain you’ve chosen to address. Summarizing what you wrote in part 2, explain why you’ve chosen to advocate for this domain and what approach to early childhood education (from chapter 9) would best support this.

Show depth of knowledge in a developmental domain (15 points): Building on Paper 2, refine your argument for ways in which early childhood educators should support your chosen developmental domain across the first 6 years of life. Based on your additional reading from Paper 2 and your learning in our course, begin this section by showing us how early childhood educators would approach work with children from 3-6 within this domain. Be specific and detailed in showing how their interactions with children would look, including specific activities or interactions that would support development in the domain that you’ve chosen. Then, compare and contrast this to how early childhood educators would approach work with children from birth to 2 if care were expanded to this early age group. What could they do similarly? How would their work need to look different?

Raise concerns about equity, diversity, and inclusion (15 points): For this part of the paper, you’ll choose one of two additional readings:

Using the reading that you’ve chosen, expand on your final thoughts from Paper 2 to detail concerns about equity, diversity, and inclusion in supporting children’s development when they attend preschool. Referring to at least 3 main points from this reading, explain why preschools should pay extra attention to issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion as access to preschool is expanded in California. For example, you could address the following: How do we ensure that preschools support resilience in students from underserved and/or historically underrepresented populations? What populations of students have typically been served by early childhood education? What do we need to consider as that changes? How do you communicate the potential benefits of early childhood education to families from diverse backgrounds and experiences? What roles might immigration, mobility, geography, culture, and/or politics play? (Do not attempt to answer all of these questions. They’re some suggestions, and you should try to keep your focus narrow to show depth in your thinking.)

References and Appendix (10 points): Provide an APA-style reference list at the end of your paper that includes your textbook and all articles you’ve read for this assignment. Then, in an appendix, explain in at least one paragraph how you used feedback from Papers 1 and/or 2 to write part 3 of your paper. (You’re also welcome to include feedback from journals and in-class assignments, if that shaped your approach to writing this paper.) Papers that exceed the stated limit will receive a deduction.

The headings for a good research
paper should include:

a. Abstract:
Abstracts are a brief summary of a larger project. Abstracts are written in the future tense and
summarize the work that will be done.
• The overall theme of your research.
• The research question or questions you seek to answer.
• The literature you will use to inform your research.

You should be able to identify several
scholarly journals that you may use to develop your literature review.
• The theory or theories that help frame and guide your research.
• The research methods that you will use as well as methods you would use if you were to
fully complete the research project.
• Techniques of data analysis to be used in your current project as well as if you were to carry
out the study.
The abstract should be 1-2 pages in length (400-700 words).

b. Introduction:
This should contain the the background information of the paper and the research goals. It should

Paragraph 2 – more detail about issues raised in paragraph 1, possibly foreshadowing other
keywords

Paragraph 3 – explanation of the background information for third keyword

Paragraph 4 – summary of what is to come in the paper (for example, “In this report, we describe…”)

c. Method:
Students will establish statistics as to research done. All technique whether qualitative, quantitative,
secondary or primary data must be identified and referenced. These statistics could involve using
graphical representation, tables, and referenced sources to support arguments of literature written.
Information on this can be located in various forensic magazines, forensic related web searches etc.

d. Findings:

Details of the study findings and citations of the analyzed document must be indicated here.

Qatar blockade Research Assignment Paper

Qatar blockade
                          Qatar blockade

Qatar blockade

that compares and contrasts the editorial stance of a Qatar-based newspaper against a newspaper in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates in two specific scenarios or situations related to the Qatar blockade.

These two newspapers should be compared with a report from an international news agency (AP, Reuters, AFP, etc.).

For each scenario or situation, a different pair of newspapers may be chosen as long as one newspaper is in Qatar and the other is in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates.

– The research paper should consider each article’s primary, secondary and tertiary audiences. A Riyadh-based newspaper, for example, might publish an article that sensationalizes quotes from anonymous sources about Qatar policies the Saudi government disagrees with. The primary audience could be Saudi citizens because the article could be intended to justify actions taken against Qatar. A secondary audience could be Western governments as the Saudi regime attempts to build support for the blockade. A tertiary audience could be Qatar’s leaders — the newspaper could be an indirect or unofficial medium for communicating across borders in the absence of diplomatic relations. In response, a Qatar newspaper might publish an article on the same topic but include facts or evidence that refute the other newspaper’s editorial stance. This becomes a case of competing ethos, pathos and logos — newspapers effectively are trying to persuade. What about wire services? – How is the message — the news content — tuned to cater to each of the audiences addressed by each newspaper? In other words, how is message a function of audience?

The research paper should examine two specific moments in the timeline of the blockade; analysis should identify the audiences of the article(s) of both newspapers, and the messages should be compared with each other.

How did the Qatar newspaper cover the situation differently from the other newspaper? –
For both incidents being studied, provide clippings or printouts of articles from both newspapers and the news agency. If an Arabic-language newspaper is chosen, the article or relevant passages should be translated to English. –

Papers must be typeset in
double-spaced, 12-point Arial with 1” margins on all sides of A4 pages
Sources and artifacts should be thoroughly documented using MLA or Chicago style; a bibliography or list of references should be appended to the paper.

Please answer/discuss the following:

Do you believe attempts to prevent terrorism have resulted in a significant diminution of freedoms for Americans? If so, can it be justified?

Proposed: Although there are many types of terrorism, the primary concern for the United States in recent years has been radical Islam, which isn’t necessarily another country to fight. From a biblical perspective, can the laws mentioned earlier in this prompt be justified as necessary to fighting this threat?

Heterosexuality Essay Assignment

Heterosexuality
             Heterosexuality

Heterosexuality

No sources really needed in this assignment- off of the questions provided(own thinking).

The foundation of heteronormativity is the assumption that everyone is naturally heterosexual. This assignment is designed to get you to identify how this way of thinking is pervasive in our society. It does this by flipping the script and asking heterosexuals questions that LGBT individuals are sometimes asked about their homosexuality.

The first step for completing this assignment is to look at the questions below. YOU SHOULD NOT ANSWER THEM. We are not asking you to tell us about your sexuality. Instead, you should think about why we do not question heterosexuals in the same ways we question homosexuals.

1. What do you think caused your heterosexuality?
2. When and how did you first decide you were a heterosexual?
3. Is it possible your heterosexuality is just a phase you may grow out of?
4. Is it possible your heterosexuality stems from a neurotic fear of others of the same sex?
5. Isn’t it possible that all you need is a good Gay lover?
6. Heterosexuals have histories of failures in Gay relationships. Do you think you may have turned to heterosexuality out of fear of rejection?
7. If you’ve never slept with a person of the same sex, how do you know you wouldn’t prefer that?
8. If heterosexuality is normal, why are a disproportionate number of mental patients heterosexual?
9. To whom have you disclosed your heterosexual tendencies? How did they react?
10. Your heterosexuality doesn’t offend me as long as you don’t try to force it on me. Why do you people feel compelled to seduce others into your sexual orientation?
11. If you choose to nurture children, would you want them to be heterosexual knowing the problems they would face?
12. The great majority of child molesters are heterosexuals. Do you really consider it safe to expose your children to heterosexual teachers?
13. Why do you insist on being so obvious and making a public spectacle of your heterosexuality? Can’t you just be what you are and keep it quiet?
14. How can you ever hope to become a whole person if you limit yourself to a compulsive, exclusive heterosexual object choice and remain unwilling to explore and develop your normal, natural, healthy, God-given homosexual potential.
15. Heterosexuals are noted for assigning themselves and each other to narrowly restricted, stereotyped sex-roles. Why do you cling to such unhealthy role-playing?
16. How can you enjoy a fully satisfying sexual experience or deep emotional rapport with a person of the opposite sex when the obvious physical, biological, and temperamental differences between you are so vast? How can a man understand what pleases a woman sexually or vice-versa?
17. Why do heterosexuals place so much emphasis on sex?
18. With all the societal support marriage receives, the divorce rate is spiraling. Why are there so few stable relationships among heterosexuals?
19. Considering the menace of overpopulation, how could the human race survive if everyone were heterosexual like you?
20. There seem to be very few happy heterosexuals. Techniques have been developed with which you might be able to change if you really want to change. Have you considered trying aversion therapy?
21. A disproportionate number of criminals, welfare recipients, and other irresponsible or antisocial types are heterosexual. Why would anyone want to hire a heterosexual for a responsible position?
22. Do heterosexuals hate and/or distrust others of their own sex? Is that what makes them heterosexual?
23. Why are heterosexuals so promiscuous?
24. Why do you make a point of attributing heterosexuality to famous people? Is it to justify your own heterosexuality?

Remember to respond to all of the prompts below in your assignment. After reviewing the questions you should write a 1-2 page response where you answer the following prompts:

1. Have you ever heard any of these questions asked about or of LGBTQ individuals?
2. What did this exercise bring up for you? What did you notice while participating in this exercise? How did you feel?
3. How did this exercise highlight assumptions around heterosexuality being the “norm”? What does this exercise reveal about heteronormativity in our society?

The criteria we will use to grade this assignment include:
Grammar and spelling
Organization
Addresses prompts in the thoughtful way
Paragraph development (1-2 pages)
