Comparing Complex Political Crisis Select a country undergoing a complex political process or a crisis.
Analyze the country’s history, institutions, and political regime. How do these influence (or not) the outcome of the crisis? Compare this process or crisis with a similar one in another country. Poverty and political, social, and economic inequalities between groups predispose to conflict; policies to tackle them will reduce this risk. Many groups of people who fight together perceive themselves as belonging to a common culture (ethnic or religious), and part of the reason that they are fighting may be to maintain their cultural autonomy.
