Individual Study Project (ISP)
For your final Individual Study Project (ISP) you will write a persuasive research essay on ANY topic of your choosing (minimum 1000 words).
– For your final Individual Study Project (ISP) you will write a persuasive research essay on ANY topic of your choosing (minimum 1000 words). Your research must be detailed, thorough, and scholarly. All students will have a brief conference with teacher to ensure they have a proper, well-constructed thesis as well as evidence to support it.
– Your assignment must include the following:
Use of at least 2 scholarly journal article (try Google Scholar)
Use of at least 4 different sources total
Copies of research notes
Works Cited page in MLA format Self-evaluation
– Scholarly sources: These are not normal sources or internet websites. These journal articles that have been published by a university or a major research organization. They are scientific, detailed, and VERY reliable. At least two of your sources must be this kind of article, which can be found using ‘Google Scholar
– Please be reminded that self-plagiarism is a form of
academic misconduct. Recycling a project or ISP from another class is
self-plagiarism. If you would like to conduct your research on a similar
topic please speak with Mr. Kirshner and your other teacher before
beginning your assignment
