Purpose: Students are asked to interview staff at the field site to understand the importance of professional writing and identify the variety of written work completed by the agency.

Students are also asked to complete a sample of professional writing that is commonly used in their field placement.

Assignment Description:

Work with your mentor to identify a piece of writing that you could complete for the agency (one that you may actually submit for agency use or as a mock document for the purposes of receiving feedback).

Students are required to submit a document that is typed and has at least half-a-page worth of writing. Complete the writing sample and share with your mentor for feedback.

Revise and check the ground rules for documentation on page 231 in Kiser before submission on learning including getting mentor’s signature on the actual sample being submitted.
