In the decades following the Civil War, the United States experienced rapid urbanization from coast-to-coast, drastically reshaping American society, culture, economics, and politics. In an intelligent, coherent essay, analyze the reasons for and the major consequences of this urban growth. Make sure to advance an argument about the major causes and effects of urbanization and to cite evidence from Plunkitt of Tammany Hall and at least one other assigned document.
