The New Deal and Minorities

Roosevelt called his program to reform the nation’s economy during the Great Depression the New Deal. Not only did it bring about major reforms, and introduce tougher regulation of big business, it also set a precedent for greatly expanded federal government involvement in the economy and society. Some of the programs that were initiated had a lasting impact while others were struck down by the Supreme Court. Just as the depression impacted people differently, so did the reforms that were passed during the New Deal.

INSTRUCTIONS:
In order to prepare you must complete the following readings:

Review and identify relevant sections of Chapters 23, 24, and 25.
Transcript of Roosevelt’s 1936 radio address discussing the New Deal
Utilize at least one of the linked sources provided in this assignment to support your discussion.
Identify and incorporate at least one additional outside source to support your discussion. In addition to the textbook, you may use any material outside of the textbook that is recommended in the Additional Reading section at the end of each chapter. You are also encouraged to do your own research and identify relevant sources. Please keep in mind that WIKIPEDIA is not an acceptable reference.

The Budget office of the State of Texas is contemplating two alternative plans to explore a change in how it utilizes press releases.

Plan A: Send press releases 1 through 5 (Group 1) using the existing approach. Send press releases 6 through 10 (Group 2) using the new approach. All newspapers on their list will receive both groups of releases. Compare average number of news items resulting from Group 1 with the number resulting from Group 2.

Plan B: Compare the number of news items being shown in 3 groups of newspapers. · Group 1: 25 randomly assigned papers will receive press releases 1-5 using the new approach. · Group 2: 25 randomly assigned papers will receive press releases 1-5 using the old approach. · Group 3: 25 remaining papers will not receive press releases 1-5.

African American studies hip hop

It is also to evaluate the content, mise en scene and hip hop cultural/musical influences. This is a also a good opportunity to research hip hop films from other ethnicities and races for example if you are interested in this area.

Develop a thesis after picking one or two ideas from an academic article as the starting point for analysis. Reference this primary source(s) in your first paragraph which will include your thesis. Throughout the rest of your paper you will use in-text citations referencing course ideas and including your new research.
