a minimum of 10 articles published within the last 10 years.

3) This is a literature review, which means it should have the following:
A literature review is essential in researching a topic to determine what is current in the field.

The importance of a literature review is it teaches students to evaluate and report on the main ideas of a particular subject area using synthesis.

Synthesizing information is not summarizing each article, but rather organizing the information by each main points of the larger topic
Asking questions such as the following will help you sift through your sources and organize your literature review.

Remember, the literature review organizes the previous research in the light of what you are planning to do in your own project.
9 • What’s been done in this topic area to date? What are the significant discoveries, key concepts, arguments, and/or theories that scholars have put
forward? Which are the important works?

• On which particular areas of the topic has previous research concentrated?
Have there been developments over time? What methodologies have been used?
• Are there any gaps in the research? Are there areas that haven’t been looked at closely yet, but which should be? Are there new ways of looking at the
topic?

• Are there improved methodologies for researching this subject?
• What future directions should research in this subject take?

Effects of cultural revolutions on societies

Examine the effects of cultural revolutions on societies

Cultural revolutions can impact a single country or the global economy.

In your own life, a cultural revolution may be a change in religious practice and belief, or an event that restructures the family unit. There are many ways that culture and revolution can be defined, and this will be explored through two interviews.

Be prepared for the interview. Check out the document on Interview Protocol in Doc Sharing in order to know what to expect and how to conduct an interview.

You will select two people and interview them about the cultural revolutions that have had the most impact upon their lives.

You should create at least 4–5 questions to ask, and be prepared to ask follow-up questions if you want more information.

The objective is to see the impact of cultural revolutions upon societies, but an effective way to learn about the view of a member in the society is to ask an individual.

You will be required to prepare a transcript of the interviews, but this is not included in the word count for the assignment.

The replies to the questions below, Part I, II, and III should be between 500–700 words. Balance the content in your answers between Part II and Part III—these sections should be about equal in length and content. For submission, you should save Part I and Part II into a single document.

Part I. One at a time, you will want to introduce the person you are interviewing and explain why you chose them for the interview.

Part II. Next, talk about cultural revolution and its impact on each of the subjects. Highlight one or two interesting ways they viewed the cultural revolution as having an impact upon their life.

How did each define a cultural revolution? As an interviewer, did you offer the definition, or examples of cultural revolutions? How did your subjects come to select a major revolutionary change in their life?

How has this revolution improved their situation or made life more challenging? How have they changed? How has their family changed? After you investigate these questions in reflection on the first interview subject, answer these questions again in relation to the second interview subject.

Part III. Finally, draw conclusions about the process and the answers that were given. Compare and contrast the results of the interviews. Discuss what was similar or different in the replies.

What did you learn about how these interview subjects saw their role in society? What is their attitude about the opportunities and challenges of this cultural revolution?

Was it a challenge for you to interview these subjects? Was it a challenge for them to answer the question? Report on the experience of the interview as a part of your conclusions..

Assignment Details

When examining the historical context of treatment in a correctional setting, it must be seen through both domestic and international viewpoints. Under the domestic view, the United States primarily uses a custodial model, which focuses on using incapacitation as the method of retribution and deterrence.

In contrast, the international view, specifically in Europe, uses the rehabilitation model. This model focuses on rehabilitating the person to become a productive member of society.

In this assignment, compare and contrast the models of corrections from the perspectives of the United States and the United Kingdom. In this paper, explain which model you think provides the best treatment.

Using the library, course materials, textbook, and Web resources, research the custodial model of incarceration of the United States and the rehabilitation model of the United Kingdom.

Address the following in a Word document of 2–3 pages:

  • How are these 2 models similar?
  • How are these 2 models different?
  • Which model do you feel is more effective at reducing the rate of recidivism?

Reliability and validity

Reliability and validity are related qualities but independent. They are similar to the terms “precision” and “accuracy,” respectively. A wind-up clock that does not work is accurate (valid) twice a day. But it lacks precision (reliability). A digital clock that is always 5 minutes slow is never accurate (valid) but is very precise (reliable). Elaborate on the assessment instrument used in your project to ensure validity and reliability.

Theories of Media Studies Research Assignment

Theories of Media Studies
Theories of Media Studies

Theories of Media Studies

This class is a 2nd year communication and media course. It is 2160 Theories of Media Studies.

We talked about making meanings, appealing to emotions, Implementation of Propaganda Devices, Propaganda and the mass, manipulation of the masses, Drudge Report, and the Maga hat controversy.

Based on your choice, you should write a 6-page long assignment analyzing one of the
current issues in the media that the course has also dealt with. Choose an event or
case that matters to you and possibly made headlines or led to a public debate.
Examine every possible aspect that may have a bearing not only on the case in question, but especially the presumptive contradiction between media theories and media practice that the issue has raised and typifies. Beside a short introduction of the
chosen case itself, elaborate and analyze both the supporting facts as well as the contrasting or contradictory claims by using at least ten reliable and independent sources. These should justify your final conclusion arrived at through the method of
comparing different approaches and points of view; the approach will also allow you to present the full characteristics and idiosyncrasies of the chosen topic according to the media theories the course has dealt with.
Put special emphasis on the possible dilemmas, which are likely to typify the media organization involved and the case itself. You should apply not a descriptive but an analytical focus. In the essay (Introduction, Main Body, Conclusion format), you are also required to examine the interplay of all variables regarding the chosen media outlet associated with the chosen topic and the applicable media theory in order to provide as complete an understanding of an event or situation and the corresponding media theory in the given media organization as possible.

In cases of loss, theft, disappearance, dispute over authorship, or any circumstances which may arise, it will be your exclusive responsibility to produce the original document.
