Fictitious data collection Research Paper

Fictitious data collection
                 Fictitious data collection

Fictitious data collection

Since there has been no Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval for your proposed fictitious data collection, you must refrain from collecting any real data. To collect fictitious qualitative data without IRB approval for this assignment, a role-playing technique will be used. Locate five people who are familiar with your target population for a qualitative study you might conduct . For example, if you are planning to interview middle school teachers regarding student motivation to perform well academically, find five people who could reasonably play the role of these respondents. The Commons cannot be used to recruit participants for any course assignments or for any research activities.

Then, complete the following assignment requirements:

  • Conduct five individual interviews using the questions you developed in Week 6. The Commons cannot be used to recruit participants for any course assignments or for any research activities.
  • Conduct an analysis of your open-ended interview results using techniques outlined from your assigned readings (be sure to provide reference citations).
  • Submit your coded data by homogeneous categories as well as a description of the emergent themes.
  • Address your statement of the problem and research question(s) from Week 6 using your data analysis.
  • Provide applicable conclusions and implications as applied to the purpose of your research and for further research.
  • Support your assignment with at least seven scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Length: 12 pages, not including title and reference pages

All research must be approved by the IRB before commencing recruitment and data collection. Course assignments are not defined as ‘research’ and do not meet the federal definition of research if the results will not be generalized beyond NCU and the course. In these course based situations an IRB application is not required. If you intend to generalize your findings beyond this course assignment and NCU, an IRB application is required. You will need to seek guidance from your mentor to complete the appropriate IRB application. The Commons cannot be used to recruit participants for any course assignments or for any research activities.

Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.

Biological research paper on Race

At first glance, humans seem to vary greatly in their physical appearances, athletic prowess, intellectual ability, and ancestry. Some believe race is based in science, while others argue that race is a social construction. How might scientists, sociologists, anthropologists, theologians, or lay people define race? Does human race have any meaningful reason to be utilized in today’s world? Articulate an argument that describes whether race is still prevalent today, if racism is still rampant, and if there is any scientific or social benefit to the classification of humans. Please remember that there is no “right” or “wrong” answer here, as long as you support the position of the paper through primary literature.

Expectations and Guidelines:

– You must use a minimum of 10 sources. At LEAST 7 of which must be primary journal articles. – At least 3 primary sources must NOT have been used in class.
– Your paper is an upper division, college level, scientific research paper. Teen Pregnancy Discussion Assignment

Teen Pregnancy Discussion Assignment Response to Mayzie Smith Research has shown that in the last few years teen pregnancy has been decreasing (Morin, 2018). It has not yet been determined why teen pregnancy has decreased, but there are still risks factors that put certain individuals at an increased risk.

Teen Pregnancy Discussion Assignment
Teen Pregnancy Discussion Assignment

Some individual risk factors are alcohol/drug use, sexual activity at a young age, low self-esteem, lack of knowledge about contraception, and being a victim of sexual abuse. There can also be peer pressure about having sex, or pressure when dating an older person (Morin, 2018). The adolescent pregnancy rate has slowly gone down, but from ages 18-19 it has increased by a few digits. I think some of the decrease is due to the increase in education in school systems; schools are providing more information about contraception, and different contraception options are being offered for free. There are various resources available to pregnant adolescents, one of the resources is called hope squared, and it offers shelter, life skills training, counseling and mentoring services. Another resource is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC provides a variety of resources on their websites that concerns parents and pregnant adolescents. The websites helps prevent pregnancy, as well as providing resources for gestation.

Litigation Cost-Benefit Analysis and Enforce ability of Arbitration

Resources: Ch. 3 and Ch. 4 of Legal Environment of Business: Online Commerce, Business Ethics, and Global Issues; law libraries and databases from the internet.

Scenario: Solar Co. Inc., a solar panel manufacturing and installation company, has recently encountered a series of scandals and bad publicity relating to defective solar panels, poor workmanship, and employee allegations of harassment by executives within the company. One claim resulted in a two-year trial which Solar Co. lost; all other claims were settled out of court.

Solar Co. enters into a contract with XYZ Media to prepare a 6-month national advertising and public relations campaign to help restore its tarnished reputation at a cost of $600,000. XYZ Media launches the campaign, and it is successful for the first two months until XYZ’s computer servers are hacked and all client information is lost because XYZ failed to have adequate backup systems in place. In addition, social media account information and passwords were compromised, resulting in derogatory and inappropriate posts being made on all of XYZ’s social media accounts for several hours. Because XYZ was managing Solar Co.’s social media presence at the time, Solar Co.’s social media accounts were also taken over by the hackers for a brief time and filled with damaging posts.

XYZ issues a public apology; however, Solar Co. wishes to terminate the contract with XYZ and receive a refund of the $200,000 it paid for the first two months of the campaign due to the damages caused by the computer hack. XYZ refuses to cancel the contract or issue a refund, insisting that it can successfully continue the campaign and re-create all of the material that was lost. Solar Co. refuses to pay any further amounts due under the contract and has already begun seeking a new media relations firm to re-launch the campaign.

Part I

Write a 525- to 700-word recommendation to Solar Co.’s CEO advising whether Solar Co. should:

file a lawsuit and proceed to trial
try to reach a settlement with XYZ Media, or
use a method of alternative dispute resolution (ADR)
Your analysis should specifically discuss each of the nine factors provided in the “Contemporary Environment Cost-Benefit Analysis of a Lawsuit” feature found in Ch. 4, “Judicial, Alternative, and E-Dispute Resolution.” Provide a clear explanation and reasoning for your recommendation based on the facts of the scenario.

Would your recommendation be different if you were advising XYZ Media’s CEO? If so, how?

Part II

Solar Co. intends to use arbitration agreements with all clients, subcontractors and employees in the future.

Write a 350- to 525-word memo to Solar Co.’s CEO explaining the arbitration procedure and the enforce-ability of arbitration provisions under the Federal Arbitration Act.

Include a recommendation as to whether arbitration agreements should be
used in the future to reduce Solar Co.’s legal risk and why.

Research on the physical security Assignment

Research on the physical security

Research on the physical security

Project assignment is to have you do more research on the physical security topic. In theory, everything may look straight forward, however, in real life it might not be like that. In this project you will need to do some research and find an article where physical security has failed. It can be a server room breach, it can be a data center breach, and any scenario that physical security has failed would be your subject. I am sure there are many recent incidences that you are going to find.

Here is what needs to be done:

1. Find an article (from a reputable magazine or link) describing where physical security has failed.

2. Submit a review of this article. Propose a possible change in that organization’s physical security that could have prevented the breach/failure for that scenario. What do you think would have prevented the incident?

3. Submit at least 2 but no more than 3 pages double spaced, APA style MS Word document.

4. No photos or graphs.

5. Reference all sources used.

SYNTHESIS PAPER ON THE PERCEPTION OF AFRICA

SYNTHESIS PAPER ON THE PERCEPTION OF AFRICA
SYNTHESIS PAPER ON THE PERCEPTION OF AFRICA

SYNTHESIS PAPER ON THE PERCEPTION OF AFRICA

At the heart of Adichie’s argument is a genuine concern about perceptions and mis-perceptions about Africa and those who live there. Think about our readings, videos, presentations, etc., and write a reaction paper that discusses your own view of our perceptions of Africa.

You will come up with your own claim regarding the works we have been looking at in class about the mis-perceptions of Africa. You will consider your own reaction to the works we have examined. Your response should start with a reaction statement, a thesis statement that describes the conclusion you drew form the various works we have examined.

The rest of your paper should be spent supporting that view with specific examples, comparisons to real life, philosophies or beliefs that you feel support or contradict what we looked at.
You could do one of the following or come up with your own idea here:

Identify a pattern across or within the works we have read and speak of its relevance.

Compare one aspect of what we read so far to something relatable today.

Prove or disprove the popular opinions about our mis-perceptions about Africa.

NOTE: Your paper must mention at least 4 of the recent readings/ videos/ Ted Talks that we have examined. (LISTED BELOW)

Reminders:
A reaction paper is an individual’s conclusions drawn from a particular topic. Those conclusions, if interesting and persuasive, should lead readers to consider the topic differently. Now, while everyone may have the same exposure to the work to which you are responding, your reaction paper is unique since it is entirely based on your ability to process, analyze, and think. Writing is a reflection of thinking and this reaction paper will set your thoughts apart from all the others

What to Do – PLAN BEFORE YOU WRITE

1. Write a thesis that states your overall opinion about our perceptions of Africa. The rest of the
paper supports that opinion.

2. Compare, Evaluate, Analyze, Justify, Defend, Distinguish, Prioritize, Critique

Justify why you think that way. Avoid fallacies.

3. Make reference to 4 or more of the works we have examined. Feel free to bring in your own resources
and support to clarify your position. Provide real-world examples. Be sure your evidence gets to your point. Summarizing the works we have studied is a waste of time.

4. End with the bigger picture in mind. What does this mean? What can we learn from this?

What Not To Do
1. Just summarize what you saw (I want to see your opinions – not a summary)

2. Eliminate all evidence to back up your point (e.g. no examples). You NEED
evidence. Just be sure that the evidence supports YOUR view.

3. Provide random examples without making careful effort to relate to your point.

For your convenience:

Resources: Your essay must pull from at least four sources overall

Description of Africans excerpt – Leo Africanus (1550)

“An Open Letter to His Serene Majesty Leopold II, King of the Belgians and Sovereign of the Independent State of Congo” – George Washington Williams (1890)
