It is very important to find out a good example of how to develop the municipal government as the defended materials (dissertation) will be used in practice for the city of Sochi (Russian Federation). So the main goal is to create the system of developing sports in Sochi.
Cardiovascular or genetic disorders Journal Entry
Reflect on a patient who presented with cardiovascular or genetic disorders (mention one diagnosis and focus on it) during your Practicum experience. Describe your experience in assessing and managing the patient and his or her family. Include details of your “aha” moment in identifying the patient’s disorder. Then, explain how the experience connected your classroom studies to the real-world clinical setting. If you did not have an opportunity to evaluate a patient with this background during the last 8 weeks, you may select a related case study from a reputable source or reflect on previous clinical experiences.

Cardiovascular or genetic disorders Journal Entry
During my practicum experience in St. Patrick’s Hospital which is a pediatric hospital, I came across a patient whose dealing with gave me experience in patient assessment and management
The patient who was a ten years old girl was diagnosed with a cardiovascular disorder that is acute myocardial infarction through a series of blood tests which identified that the patient had high levels of proteins in the bloodstream. The diagnosis was shocking to me since at first I had thought that the patient was suffering from pneumonia due to the symptoms she had.
Once the patient’s assessment had revealed that she had myocardial infarction, I had to call in her mother and father. Both parents were first subjected to a session of guidance and counseling and it was during this session that we got to interact more. This was important so as to identify the needs of the patient such as psychological needs. The guidance and counseling session is required since some parents are usually emotionally week and such news of their children being diagnosed with such illness can put them in a state of depression. (Burns, Dunn, Brady, Starr, & Blosser, pg 700)
After the assessing, the next step was to manage the patient. During the first 24 hours of diagnosis, the patient was put under close monitoring for adverse electrical events. The patient’s movements were then restricted for at least12 hours and analgesics were used to relieve pain. After the first day in hospital, the patient was then subjected to treatment using aspirin and beta-adrenergic blocker. The patient was then put under close observation for the identification of any complications. The patient who then developed chest pain was given high dosage of aspirins that is 650 mg every five hours for twenty hours. After two days the patient was released and was given appointments after every two weeks to enable her condition to be monitored. (Margulies, 2012, pg 194)
The patient’s family members were then put under a programme that was to teach them on the type of diet that they should provide to the patient that is a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol. They were also educated on the importance of ensuring that the girl uses his medication as recommended. (Burns et al.,2013, pg 706)
In conclusion, the experience was able to help me appreciate the importance of guidance and counseling sessions before releasing a patient’s diagnoses and this is as it has been taught back in school.

Pediatric Care Journal Entry
It is a concern for nurses to find pediatrics agonizing in pain. Ensuring that children receive nursing care is an obligation for pediatric nurses. I am strong in that I ensure that patients experience minimum pain when in my hands. When measuring pain levels, I assess pediatric patients’ physiologic and behavioral reactions as expected (Vincent, Wilkie, & Wang, 2011, Pg. 825). However, I also have weaknesses when handling pediatric patients. For instance, I find myself relying too much on behavioral reactions of patients when assessing pain intensity. At times, I apply the technique to children who are beyond four years of age, yet the group can sufficiently describe the level of pain they experience. Both my strengths and weaknesses influence the quality of care that I give to pediatrics. As suggested by my strengths, I offer high-quality care to children less than four years old. On the other hand, my limitation leads to the provision of non-standard care to older groups.
Kolcaba’s Comfort Theory
The comfort theory would guide my nursing practice efficiently. The theory approaches care from its physical, sociocultural and psychosocial aspects (Blackburn, 2014, Pg. 21). Comfort theory also includes recognizing pains that patients feel. The acknowledgments offer relief, especially to pediatric patients (Blackburn, 2014, Pg. 21).
Practicum Objectives
To attend more than twenty pediatric patients within the time limits of the practicum.
To assess and diagnose more than ten pediatric patients who express severe pains.
To evaluate pain in more than five pediatrics aged beyond four years.
I will prescribe appropriate analgesic medications for more than ten pediatric patients.
To assess the efficiency of both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic pain management strategies in more than ten
I will promote the health of pediatrics through advocacy, good practice, research, and appropriate leadership as expected of pediatric nurse practitioners (NAPNAP, 2008, e2).
Week 1 Entry
I will identify pediatric inpatients to whom I will attend during the practicum. I will also collect the adequate history of my patients of interest. I will establish the level of pain and prescribe analgesic medications to more than five patients.

Leaders must be in a position to take leadership of an entity and help spearhead reforms that will lead to achievement of the set goals. To achieve this, the leaders are expected to possess skills and knowledge that will enable them to lead the rest of the people. When offering training in leadership, it is important that the right candidates enroll, learning challenges should be created and mentoring services must be available. The training should as well provide experiments to ensure that they develop leadership competency (Allio 2005). The training should as well focus on developing self-knowledge and skills in critical thinking and rhetoric thinking. A leader is also expected to reflect on their leadership styles and actions to understand the way forward. Acton-observation –reflection models allows one to learn from the experiences as they think about the same, this enables a leader o make adjustments of the actions hence can provide superb leadership. Assessment of leadership allows a leader to identify areas that need improvement hence promotes quality leadership.

Week 6 Journal Entry
Journal Entry 1:
Significance of ethics in leadership
An important aspect of leadership that I encountered is ethics in leadership or ethical leadership. I have learned that the principles for ethical leadership are vital to embrace as part of any perspective on leadership. The principles also offer proper guidance for ethical leadership in action. Ethical principles serve as benchmarks or standards against which people can assess their actions. Moreover, considerations of the principles of ethical leadership should take into account the question of monitoring as well as regulatory mechanisms. Nowadays, ethics is an imperative pillar of organizations. Through the learning experience, I have learned that ethics can contribute positively to an organization. The implication that comes with honesty in organization, for instance, is that good people will always be good hence they will tend to do good things to other people.
Journal Entry 2:
Implications of ethics in organizations
I have learned the implications that ethics has on organizations. Organizations have a key role of ensuring that ethical values and ethical codes are followed by all employees for an effective organizational performance. I have learned that the implications that ethics has on any organization could be seen from 2 dissimilar perspectives: the leadership ethics and the employee ethics. Employee ethics: in organizations in which staff members observe the codes of ethics, the staffs are driven to attaining the organization’s goals. Leadership ethics: I have learned that the ethics which a company’s leader chooses to administrate has an implication on the way staffs would carry out their duties within the organization. According to Matthew (2014, p. 102), this choice also affects the input of the staff members and the organization’s productivity.
An example of an organization in which ethics has had considerable implications is Etihad Airways. The success of this company is very much entrenched in its code of ethics. Etihad Airlines has a set code of ethics that specifies the standards that it targets as an organization. All workers at this airline comply with the Etihad’s code of ethics and this has ensured that Etihad Airline’s services are of international standards and enhance the company’s reputation.

Thesis Proposal
The following exercise entails the analysis of the personalities of two internationally known leaders with special attention being paid to the way their personal attributes relate to existent theories that elaborate more on this phenomenon. The two leaders who will be analyzed are Sir Richard Branson, CEO of the Virgin Group and Sir Akbar Al Baker who is the current CEO of Qatar Airways.
The three theories that will be applied to the analysis of these two individuals’ personalities are Allport’s Trait Theory, Eysenck’s personality Theory and Freud’s Tripartite Theory of Personality.
Freud’s Tripartite theory of personality divides an individual’s character traits into three main components namely the id, the ego and thirdly the superego. These develop at different rates and an individual’s overall personality can be defined as one of these depending on the most visible aspect of the person. One will be said to have a Psychotic Psyche, Healthy Psyche or Neurotic Psyche depending on which of the three are most pronounced.
Eysenck’s personality theory on the other hand employs two dimensions namely extroverted and introverted as a means of categorizing the various possible personalities that an individual may present. These are choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic and finally melancholic. Each of these are further divided into tens of smaller sub-categories.
Allport’s Trait Theory analyzes individuals subjectively based on their in-born traits combined with the environmental dynamics that they have been exposed to as they were developing. The theory takes the position that individual personalities are directly impacted by biology and their environmental variables.
The above theories can all be used to analyze the personalities of Sir Branson and Al Baker. This is due to the flexibility and practicality of the above mentioned theories and the information that is available regarding the two international business leaders.
My intended application of the insights
I will apply the insights I get to the different situations that these two leaders have been in specifically at the beginning of their respective careers, when things have been difficult for them and also how they have handled success. Since they are both in the business world, I will also apply the insights I am getting to their impact on the products that the organizations they currently lead supply to the market. Their relationships with different parties is another area where insights can be applied. These parties include their superiors where applicable, their subordinates, their competitors and also their customers.
With respect to my working situation of being a pilot, I will apply these insights to the ambitions I hold for myself in this profession, the working relationship I have with those around me and how I measure up against the recommended standards. I will also consider the motivation that I have as a pilot and what impact this has on my leadership if any.

SAMPLE ANSWER
Aspects of leadership
Journal Entry Number One
Description
This model focused and zeroed in on the styles of leadership that are presently practiced. After the readings, the styles of leadership were categorized as relational, or task motivated. The contingency model is therefore analyzed. This approach of leadership is based on certain key contingency factors that include a follower development, situational urgency and task structures geared towards finding appropriate leadership styles that befit a situation.
Analysis
The central purpose of this style of leadership dwells on contingency factors that dictate which among several leadership styles should be applied in a situation. Each particular leadership method results in certain outcomes (Lang, & Rybnikova, p 45). Another factor that stands out in this approach of leadership is that it is transformational, transactional and directive
Interpretation
This approach clearly intersects how a leader can perform effectively in certain roles and exhibit a series of weaknesses in different situations based on the task structure, position power, and leader-member relations (Lang, & Rybnikova, p 45). For example, a nurse may function effectively as a head of a department in a nursing association but may be unable to make timely and critical decisions when given the role of a surgeon. When this approach is applied, resources in the form of time and lives are saved.
Journal Entry Number 2
Description
The central concept of this theory is that employees are motivated by that which they perceive their situation. This theory contends that employee motivation develops from their ability to complete given tasks, the support they receive in completing the tasks, the barriers and the rewards they receive.
Analysis
A leader is an important variable in this model since he is held accountable for determining extrinsic rewards for goal completion (Wang, p 95). The support given by a leader increases the chances of work accomplishments, reduces the frustrations caused by barriers, and the intrinsic valences for goal attainment through task assignments.
Interpretation
This approach also gives a leader the task of choosing the best environment for followers that match the situations. An instance of this is shown in a hospital setting where the Manager has the task of running the activities of the organization. When he applies this theory, he matches the individual needs of the workers to that of the organization. He then adjusts his leadership style to match the tasks of junior officers.

Racism represents one of the inequalities that dominate in health care systems. It is a factor that contributes to provision and access to inadequate healthcare services victims of racial discrimination. As postulated by studies, racism tends to be embodied in peoples` life course and across generations, thus leading to inequalities that continue to be documented in healthcare services (Krieger, 2008).
Health inequalities come about due social inequalities, including racism and other inequalities including class and gender. Considering this fact, only individuals who have been educated and have accumulated wealth can access improved health care services. To prove the trend of health inequalities in the US, several scholars have published articles documenting the existence of racial and socioeconomic disparities in the US. This could have a direct impact on the mortality rates. Individuals from poor socioeconomic backgrounds and facing racial discrimination may experience high mortality rates compared to the opposite group. As revealed from the article by Krieger, a decline in the death rates was noted after the introduction of the Medicare and Medicaid services by the US government (Krieger, 2008).
Even after the introduction of the Medicare and Medicaid system by the US government, health inequalities remain apparent. At one time, a mid-50s male African-American male, who was diabetic and entitled to Medicaid services explained that the insurance cover did not cover his medical expenses well. He explained that he always ran out of his glucose level testing kits, but he could not be given more kits to keep checking his level of blood sugar. His life was thus in danger since he could not afford to purchase the kits. He could not be given more kits because his cover could not allow that. This case proves that access to inadequate health care services remains, and proves the inefficiency of the Medicaid services among the disadvantaged social class individuals.

Self Reflective Journal One
As teachers, we are supposed to be open-minded when it comes to teaching. This is in the sense that all students are starting at the same point and should be taken as such regardless of their level of understanding. In most cases, I have come to see that as teachers, we get classes that are well balanced ethnically but are blinded to see how the students relate to each other from all aspects such as culture, religion, or background. For instance, if a child is new to the class and his or her culture is different from most of the other classmates, there is a high chance that if the teachers are not keen there will be a form of discrimination and the child might feel left out and not live up to their full potential (Patrick, Hisley and Kempler, 2000).
Over the years, as I have interacted with parents, each believes that their child has the capacity to achieve all they desire with proper guidance. This has acted as a calling to me to know that parents consider a teacher as a building foundation that will help their children achieve success. In essence, it has opened my eyes to the fact that as the teacher, I am supposed to ensure that children are not limited to attaining their goals based on how I and the rest of classmates relate.
According to Sullo (2009), the teacher is the key motivator of all students. This is a revelation to ensure I become the link between students and their success. In addition to this, I have learnt that education is a continuous process that we all learn from both teachers and students. From a general point of view, as a teacher I have come to appreciate the different students that we receive and teach in our classes. Through them and through interaction with their parents, one gets to learn of their different cultures, values, and belief, and a way to deal with them without favoring one or the other.
