Theoretical or Conceptual Framework Purpose Statement Introduction

Model for Introducing Theory/Conceptual Framework:

ï Name or Identity of the Theory/Framework

ï Name the Theorist (if applicable)

ï List Key Concepts of the Theory/Framework

ï Identify Propositions/Hypotheses

ï Identify Application to your Study

Example of:

Qualitative Conceptual Framework

The conceptual framework that will be used is transformational leadership. The transformational leadership framework was developed by James McGregor Burns. Bass (1985) later elongated the works of Burns. This theory was used to offer an explanation for leadership based upon the premise that leaders are able to inspire followers to change expectations, perceptions, and motivations to work toward common goals. Key constructs/propositions underlying the theory are (a) individualized consideration, (b) intellectual stimulation, (c) inspirational motivation, and (d) idealized influences. As applied to this study, the transformational leadership theory holds that I would expect the propositions advanced by the theory to allow participants to effectively explore perceptions and experiences regarding leaders, transformational leadership characteristics as it pertains to job satisfaction.

Theoretical or Conceptual Framework (needs rewrite/editing)

The establishment of qualitative research is hinged on the need to explore the relationship between the various challenges and the overall impact on the startup entrepreneurs. The implication is that most of the factors that influence business are linked to the knowledge base of the entrepreneurs and as such, it is essential to define the critical approaches that will be essential in influencing the impact of the knowledge on the success or failure of the business.

Some of the approaches chosen in this study will include observation and interviews which will be the basis of the evaluation of the research problems in the various businesses. Observation remains one of the best approaches towards highlighting the relationships between awareness of the challenges and the impact of these challenges on the startups in the market. Wang et al. (2016) argue that qualitative approaches are integral as they will be relied upon in establishing the various relationships between the factors and the business.  Neuman (2013) who notes that observation increases the validity of the data considering the ability of the researcher to evaluate the different factors that influence the performance of the business enterprise explains the centrality of observation in the collection of data.

The implication is that qualitative approaches will be the most appropriate strategies for evaluating the relationship between knowledge and the performance of a business. Interviews and focus groups will also be integrated into the interrogation of the relationship between knowledge and startups (Neuman, 2013). The conceptual framework of this research is tied to the need to define the overall influence that knowledge has on the startup business while defining the most appropriate measures that would be essential in generating the best solutions to the challenges. Lewis (2015) argues that qualitative data collection and evaluation approaches will be significantly relied upon to outline the possible relationships in this study as well.

Henderson theory demonstrates the role of the nurse and the functions of the role. We are accused at times of being too task oriented

. How does Henderson’s theory while looking at the functions does look at the nurse?

The Henderson theory of nursing was developed by Virginia Henderson. She did not believe that she was setting out a theory, and preferred it to be thought of as a definition. Whether it is considered a definition or a theory, it has had a wide influence on the concept and practice of nursing. Virginia Henderson was born on November 30, 1897, in Kansas City, Missouri.

CDC uses a four-level social-ecological model to better understand violence and the effect of potential prevention strategies.¹ This model considers the complex interplay between individual, relationship, community, and societal factors. It allows us to understand the range of factors that put people at risk for violence or protect them from experiencing or perpetrating violence.

Two Factor Theory of Development Levels

Two Factor Theory of Development Levels There are not very many chapters where I disagree with Professor Northouse, but this is one of those where I vigorously diverge from his approach.

Two Factor Theory of Development Levels
Two Factor Theory of Development Levels

A much better examination of Situational Leadership can be achieved by reviewing Fred Fiedler ’s work,
but I guess that will have to wait for a different venue. Let’s focus on what he does have to say in his take on the
Situational Approach.
Early on in this chapter, he introduces the important issues of Leadership Styles.
Question #1:
To what extent do you perceive a difference between this and the Behavioral Approach from chapter 4?
Professor Northouse explicates the Development Levels, and this offers an important change of focus from the leader to the
follower. Specifically, the Development Levels examines their competence and their commitment.
Question #2:
How adequately does this two-factor theory of Development Levels address the complexities of the real world? Hint: the crew
of the Titanic was highly competent (the Titanic was, after all the flagship of the White Star Line, so only the best sailors
manned her) and the crew were highly committed to not drowning in the icy North Atlantic. To paraphrase Professor Northouse’s
words: “They had the skills to do the job and the motivation to get it done.”
My greatest criticism of the Situational Leadership® II rests with that Registered Trademark symbol. The fine print in the
book warns you that “This model cannot be used without the expressed, written consent of The Ken Blanchard Companies.” That
may have something to do with why we read the first criticism: “…is that only a few research studies have been conducted to
justify the assumptions and propositions set forth by the approach.”

Why did he rebel against the Roman Catholic Church? How did his theological view differ from those of orthodox Catholics? If he was a rebel, why didn’t he support the German peasant revolt?

Genealogy of Morality

In his On the Genealogy of Morality, Nietzsche presents a potent challenge to morality. First, explain this challenge. Second, explain which of the defenders of morality we’ve discussed—Plato, Hobbes, or Kant—you think is best placed to answer it.

Note: in laying out your favored defense of morality, do not just describe the view. Rather, explain how the view is responsive to the particular criticisms that Nietzsche levels. If Plato (or Hobbes or Kant) were faced with these criticisms, what might he say in reply?

Modern Western Capitalism and Sociological Theory

It is primarily a pedagogical tool, similar to a formal book report. Use a simplified citation system: after each quotation simply put in parenthesis the last name of the author of the text used (e.g., Levine, Wolff, Oakes, Giddens, etc.) and the p. #

  1. Implicit or explicit in the work of Marx, Durkheim, Weber, and Simmel are theories about how social solidarity/integration, the division of labor, and the human condition change as Western societies are transformed from pre-modern to modern/urban/industrial. Compare and contrast the work of these four sociologists with respect to the nature of social evolution and consider the aspects of social evolution enumerated above in your answer.
  2. Weber argues that certain elements of culture promoted behavior that laid the foundation for the emergence of modern Western capitalism. What are these elements and in what ways are they historically unique? How do they mold behavior in a way consistent with Weber’s vision of capitalism and lead to Weber’s ultimate conclusion about the fate of individuality and freedom under capitalism?

IMPORTANT NOTICE : A simple format for writing an Explication de Texte is this:

1 A brief summary of the literal, not the figurative, content;

2 A description of the text’s type and structure (e.g. Was it a sonnet? What kind?) and its tone;

3 The poetic devices used in the text (e.g. personification)

Self-control & general theory of crime

Title: Literature review: self-control theory/general theory of crime

Choose a criminology theory of your choice, and write a 4 page double spaced literature review/research paper on that topic. Literature reviews identify major themes associated with a topic, and demonstrate the agreement and disagreement that may exist on the topic in terms of theoretical concepts and research findings. Therefore, a well constructed literature review should contain the following: description of the main concepts of the theory, the history of development of the theory, strengths and weaknesses of the theory, any research findings that show why the theory does not fully explain certain types of crime or leaves certain questions about crime unanswered, any crimes/victimization experiences it explains the best, and a description of some of the specific research findings. Paper must also have a conclusion that summarizes the important aspects of existing knowledge on that topic. This involves using the databases on the website and google scholar to find peer reviewed research articles to create the paper. I will post an outline that you can follow to construct the literature review.
