Challenges of Dealing with Prison Gangs What are some of the main challenges of dealing with gangs in prison?
Challenges of Dealing with Prison Gangs
What are some research methods and sources of information corrections staff might employ when dealing with gangs in prison? Use examples when possible in your answer and cite at least one outside source.
Canada’s prison system is struggling with a dangerous gang population that is becoming increasingly diverse and more difficult to manage.
About 2,306 inmates are now known to belong to what Correctional Service Canada (CSC) calls “security threat groups,” including Indigenous, Asian, motorcycle and street gangs, as well as cults and extremist, terrorist, white supremacist and other hate organizations.
The thesis is that “white collar crime is a special type of crime that requires a different response”
basically, this argument should talk about whether we as a society should have a different approach to white-collar crime and whether we need to consider the nature case by case of each of these crimes committed by example. Also discuss the responses from society, police, judicial systems, and the criminal justice system as a whole towards white collar crime and what approaches to stakeholders take and how they have done this over the past few years with cases.
Please mention non plagiarized and only educational sources of cases that can be applied to the upper thesis and description of the thesis.
Sources and examples should more likely by Canadian, English or US. and there must be at least 2 Canadian examples.
Please try to add some concepts and some white collar crime philosophers who talk about this.
This is a formal essay

please do add a dummy cover page leaving space out for my name, title etc.

Title: Literature review: self-control theory/general theory of crime
Choose a criminology theory of your choice, and write a 4 page double spaced literature review/research paper on that topic. Literature reviews identify major themes associated with a topic, and demonstrate the agreement and disagreement that may exist on the topic in terms of theoretical concepts and research findings. Therefore, a well constructed literature review should contain the following: description of the main concepts of the theory, the history of development of the theory, strengths and weaknesses of the theory, any research findings that show why the theory does not fully explain certain types of crime or leaves certain questions about crime unanswered, any crimes/victimization experiences it explains the best, and a description of some of the specific research findings. Paper must also have a conclusion that summarizes the important aspects of existing knowledge on that topic. This involves using the databases on the website and google scholar to find peer reviewed research articles to create the paper. I will post an outline that you can follow to construct the literature review.

Note: You must read Holmes chapters 4–7 and 14 in order to complete this assignment. If you have not done so, stop now and read that material.
The ethical issue: One of the ethical controversies of recent times is the practice of using torture to obtain information from suspected terrorists or those with knowledge of terrorist activities. Some believe that the current threat of terrorism warrants such drastic means, while others believe that torture is never a justifiable manner of handling prisoners of war.
The scenario: Suppose a situation presents itself in which there are strong reasons to believe a major attack on U.S. soil is immanent and that many lives will be put in danger. Security forces have captured a terrorist and they have very good reasons to believe he has vital information that can lead to thwarting this attack. They have tried the usual means of obtaining information from the prisoner and none of them have been successful; his resolve not to talk is quite strong. However, security forces are now considering torturing the prisoner. They believe, with a high degree of probability, that torture will break his resolve and he will supply the needed information.
The question: Should they torture the prisoner?
Your thread (at least 350 words) must consist of 2 parts:
From your understanding of Holmes’ discussions, explain how each one of the following theories might answer the question of torture described in the scenario: utilitarianism, Kantian duty-based ethics, virtue ethics, and Christian-principle based ethics.
Select the theory you think is true in the context of the torture issue, and explain why.

Offenders commit crimes for different reasons. Criminological theories attempt to explain why crimes occur. For the Final Paper, you will evaluate the theoretical study of crime and crime causation by examining the crime of an offender and applying a criminological theory discussing why the offense occurred.
You must discuss both the offender and the crime in detail. Additionally, you must research the criminological theory to be used; discuss the theorist responsible for coining the theory, the year it was created, the premise of the theory, and how it is applicable.
Below is a list of offenders that were reported in the media as a result of the heinous nature of their offense. Select one of the offenders, and research their crime. You may only use scholarly sources when citing in your paper. Wikipedia is not an acceptable source.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines. Qualitative research has a long and distinguished history in the social sciences, arising
in part from dissatisfaction with quantitative approaches. The ethnographic studies
conducted by the Chicago School in the 1920s and 1930s established the importance
of qualitative research for the study of crime and deviance (see Chapter 7). In this
chapter, a brief history is given of the origins of criminology and the development of
the empirical research tradition within it.
