Using Action Research in the Real World

Using Action Research in the Real World Action research is a participatory process. In other words, it requires that you become involved in the problem-solving process and collaborate with others
in your system to derive answers to real-world problems.

Using Action Research in the Real World

As a professional counselor, you will encounter phenomena that have not been examined in the
professional literature. Because you will need to determine a manner in which to proceed, having the skills to implement participatory action research will
be essential.
Before facing this scenario in a real world setting, it could prove useful to develop a strategy for conducting action research related to a real or
hypothesized system or organizational problem. In this Discussion you generate ideas about conducting action research as it relates to professional
counseling, and you design the basic elements of an action research project.
With these thoughts in mind:
Write an example of how you would use action research in your counseling practice or setting. Then, describe the problem and the rationale for using action
research to address it. Be specific and include what you would want to “find” and how you would go about “finding” it.

Academic Analysis of Boredom Research Proposal

Academic Analysis of Boredom Research Proposal Your first task is to choose a specific situation that you find boring ( In my proposal I already chose the situation that I find boring: "When I?m
alone at home in a silence I find it very boring, even if I have lots of things to do.

Academic Analysis of Boredom Research Proposal
Academic Analysis of Boredom Research Proposal

I always have my TV on even if I?m not watching it, I just like when
somebody is talking on the background. I always have to be around someone even if they are doing their own things and not talking to me. So being home alone
is very boring for me." This will be the topic of your essay.
For this assignment you will analyze a specific ?boring? situation/thing/phenomenon, and try to better understand the situation by applying one or more
academic perspectives (a well confirmed explanation of the way our world operates; for example: an academic study) to the situation.
Your essay will need to cite at least 1 academic source ? a theory of boredom. Additionally, it will likely be necessary to do more research in order to
fully describe and investigate your topic, though there is no minimum number of academically appropriate sources (beyond your theory) that you must use in
order to do so.

Research and Scientific Statistics and Psychology

Address the following items:
•Define research and the scientific method.
•Compare and contrast the characteristics of primary and secondary data.
•Explain the role of statistics in research. A lot of psychology students are surprised (and sometimes dismayed) to realize that statistics courses are required for graduation in their chosen major. Yes, statistics courses are a major part of virtually all psychology programs. Not only will you need to take at least one or two courses of statistics, but you will probably also encounter the subject in many of your other classes, particularly those that involve experimental design or research methods.

Information Gathering using Garbology

Information Gathering using Garbology The things left behind or thrown away can hold more information about the people doing the discarding then their cities and monuments.

Information Gathering using Garbology
Information Gathering using Garbology

While archaeologists of the past sought the tombs of kings, modern archaeologists tend to focus on trash middens in the search for information. The trash of the common member of the culture is far more instructive than the tombs or houses of the economic elite.

Information Gathering using Garbology Assignment

For this assignment I want you to record everything your throw away for one week. If you live in the dorms gather data on what you personally throw away. If you are part of a household or live off campus record what is thrown away at your residence. It is not necessary to take out your trash and go through it, but if you eyeball it and discuss with other people in your residence what they have tossed away then you can get a good feel for what all has been discarded. Then tell me, in an essay of at least 300 words, what you think your refuse says about you and possible those that you live with.
The interpretation is the tricky part and I often advise students to imagine that the garbage belongs to someone else. What does the refuse tell you about
the household’s economic status, religious beliefs or political system? Can you gauge how many individuals were part of the household or if the refuse was even from a single household? You may include your list of things that were thrown away; though it does not count toward the minimum length requirement. This assignment is worth 25 points so have fun and be creative with your interpretations and if you take it seriously you might just find out a thing or two about yourself through your garbage!

This project will commence with an investigation of what Business Intelligence is. The investigation will then concentrate on the data mining aspect of
Business Intelligence, discussing perceived benefits and negatives to a business within the retail sector whilst using a case study to contrast two similar
sized businesses, one who is currently using their own in-house data mining system and one who has as yet, not become convinced of the benefits. The
project will ultimately explore whether or not data mining can be effectively used to boost sales and improve customer satisfaction.

Instead of providing questions with only specific answers, like a poll, qualitative research allows people to be themselves during the research process. In return, researchers are able to investigate methodologies with greater accuracy.
