Educational Philosophy Statement Assignment

Educational Philosophy Statement
Educational Philosophy Statement

Educational Philosophy Statement

In this essay (about 2 pages), you will articulate your personal philosophy of education. Be thinking: What statement describes your philosophy of teaching and learning? This will probably be your thesis statement and be the starting point for your creation.
A. It is appropriate to first guide your reader (or viewer) with an introduction that includes a description, a scenario, or an explanation of your chosen philosophy(ies). This part will definitely require you employ citations from our main text. Remember, ideas about these philosophical theories are not your own, and credit must be given to those who formulated them.
B. Next, articulate who you are (or will be) philosophically. You should write (or include) answers to the following:
• What should be the focus or goal of education? Why?
• Based on your philosophy, how do you anticipate interacting with students and parents?
• How will your philosophy be implemented in your future classroom? If I were to visit you, what would I see in your classroom that would make me believe your philosophy is really what you say it is?
C. Lastly, a brief conclusion is necessary to summarize and to synthesize your thoughts.

Most of this paper is indicative of your views regarding the nature of teaching and learning. It is normal, and acceptable, to use first person point-of-view in this paper (I, me, we). These are your beliefs. Articulate them well! It is not enough to just repeat what you have read. The well-prepared teacher must explain his or her rationale for designing a learning experience in a particular way. Be sure to express why you believe what you do.

Lens Writing a Comparative Analysis

Lens Writing a Comparative Analysis In your final assignment, you will use Othello to discuss Season of Migration, writing a lens or keyhole essay. Othello will be the lens through which you analyze Season.

Lens Writing a Comparative Analysis
Lens Writing a Comparative Analysis

Before beginning your paper, read about the discussion of the lens essay in “Writing a Comparative Analysis” (Harvard Writing
Center: https://writingcenter.fas.harvard.edu/pages/how-write-comparative-analysis).

Lens Writing a Comparative Analysis

The focus of your essay will be on Season of Migration, but you will integrate an analysis of Othello into your paper to address the following question: In what sense
can Season of Migration be considered a postcolonial revision of Othello? That is, how and why does Salih rewrite the story of Othello and Desdemona in Season of Migration?
Your essay should be at least five pages, double-spaced, not including the MLA Works Cited page, and you should use a 12- point Times New Roman font. You should have a title.
1. An introduction which makes your frame of reference clear. Your frame of reference for this essay will be the postcolonial theory
. Read “Postcolonial Criticism” (in Course Resources) before beginning this paper. You will want to give the reader a brief understanding of what postcolonial literature is, and explain why Season of Migration to the North is a postcolonial novel. The dates in which it was set and published should be mentioned, and the British colonial period (1899-1956).
2. The paragraph following the introduction: Here you will transition from a discussion of Season as a postcolonial text to a discussion of Othello as a parent text for Salih (your grounds for comparison). Briefly introduce the reader to Othello, and discuss how and why Salih borrowed and reappropriated motifs (themes and characters) from Othello. In this paragraph, you should answer the question above (In what sense can Season be considered a postcolonial revision of Othello?) in 2-3
sentences, your thesis statement.

Lens Writing a Comparative Analysis

3. In the body of your essay, you will develop your argument using a text-by-text organizational structure. Discuss Othello first, analyzing how Othello represents Othello and his marriage to Desdemona (1-2 pages). Then, the transition to a discussion of Season, focusing on textual allusions to Othello within Season. How does Salih define Mustafa Sa’eed and Jean Morris against Desdemona and Othello? (1-2 pages).
In your conclusion, discuss the broader implications of your analysis. How does Season, a classic postcolonial Sudanese text, make us read Othello, a canonical European play, differently? How does it constitute an act of “writing back” to the colonizing culture?
You will be graded on your ability to create an effective lens argument that is grounded in postcolonial theory. Style, organization, and grammar also count. If your paper has so many grammatical errors that its meaning is lost on me, the reader, I will not accept it.

Biological research paper on Race

   Biological research paper on Race

Biological research paper on Race

At first glance, humans seem to vary greatly in their physical appearances, athletic prowess, intellectual ability, and ancestry. Some believe race is based in science, while others argue that race is a social construction. How might scientists, sociologists, anthropologists, theologians, or lay people define race? Does human race have any meaningful reason to be utilized in today’s world? Articulate an argument that describes whether race is still prevalent today, if racism is still rampant, and if there is any scientific or social benefit to the classification of humans. Please remember that there is no “right” or “wrong” answer here, as long as you support the position of the paper through primary literature.

Leading Effective Groups and Teams

Read the following articles about building and leading effective teams:

Building and Leading High Performance Teams (https://www.inc.com/resources/leadership/articles/20070101/musselwhite.html#/resources/leadership/articles/20070101/musselwhite.html )

•Building Effective Teams Isn’t Rocket Science, but It’s Just as Hard (Note: This article can only be accessed a limited number of times.) (https://hbr.org/2012/04/consistently-building-highly-e)

Managing groups and teams is an essential element of the leading facet of the P-O-L-C framework. As you read these articles, reflect on your experience working in groups and teams, and then address the following prompts:

1.Think about a positive experience when you worked in a group or team and identify the principles that were presented in the articles that were exhibited by your group or team. Explain how these principles helped the group or team succeed.
2.Think about a negative experience when you worked in a group or team and identify which principles from the articles were lacking. Explain how the lack of these principles led to poor performance of the group or team.

If you were the manager of that group or team, how would you correct the issues that caused the poor performance?

Virtue Ethics
[I eliminated much of this section. What is left is here to demonstrate clear and concise writing style.
Also, note that this is the extent to which you should define or discuss the theories being applied. Your
definition of the theory should represent ¼ of your analysis of the subject, while your application of
the facts to the theory should represent ¾ of your analysis.]

Categorical Imperative
CONCLUSION
[Your conclusion must weigh the evidence you presented above in your arguments and provide a
logical recommendation. Remember that this section is not the place to repeat your arguments but
explain why you rely on one theory or another (or all four, etc). This is why it is important to consider
the criticisms for each of the theories].
