Ethical Consideration on Human Subject Protections

I’m doing a research proposal and my research topic is What happens to children left within the system and what’s life like after they’ve aged out of the system?

For this particular assignment, I have to answer the following questions below in apa format.
What safeguards are in place in your study to protect human subjects? Consider both emotional and / or physical harm. Consider who the subjects are and if children or some other vulnerable population such as elderly or mentally ill.

What is your basic ethical approach? How will you protect the participants/subjects from any possible abuses? What steps are you taking to ensure informed consent? Provide a copy of any letter and consent forms in the appendix.

When and how will you submit for Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval (for this class you were not required to submit the proposal for IRB, but this is an important procedure which you need to be aware off)? You can indicate that you have completed the human subject training and pass the test with 80% or above which indicate that you do have an understanding of the importance of human subject protection in research etc., You can also state that as a social work student research you are aware of the importance of ethical consideration and make mention to the NASW Code of Ethics…by quoting what it said.

Bias

We all have biases; the most insidious are those of which we are unaware or unacknowledged. What makes you different from your subjects? Is it race, ethnicity, social class, education, work experience, physical or mental ability, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc.? How might these differences impede your investigation (invisibility, insensitivity, overgeneralization, or perhaps double standards)?

Limitations

Now that you have an idea
(from your literature review)
how broad your topic could be, tell the reader what it is that you are deliberately not going to study. What aspects of the problem are outside the scope of your
interests at this point (or at least for this paper)? Then, if you had 3 years and $1,000,000 what are some of the things you could or would improve about your design, sample, analysis, etc. for your research proposal.
