Model of Setting Goals or Mission and Vision Statement Robert,

According to the text, aligning individual, unit or division, and organizational priorities is possible, “In fact, a recent study including 338 organizations in 42 countries found that performance management is the third most important factor affecting the success of a strategic plan” (Aguinis, 2013, p. 63).

While all organizations need to achieve strategic plans, larger organizations must do so for successful achievement of enterprise goals. Organizations that operate in rapidly changing environments need performance management systems to remain viable and competitive (Aguinis, 2013). Noted in the

Academy of Management Journal, “Further, recent meta-analyses have corroborated the validity of goal-setting theory’s major premise, which is that specific, challenging goals lead to higher performance than vague, easy goals” (Chesney & Locke, 1991,

Model of Setting Goals or Mission and Vision Statement

  1. 400). The purpose of performance management is to help employees to achieve goals which in turn allow the organization to achieve its goals.

The text notes the benefits achieved by Key Bank of Utah after implementing a performance management plan that was aligned with the organization’s strategic plan. Key Bank enjoyed several benefits after implementing a new performance management system.

Those benefits included employees focused on goals, more decision making power for employees, better understanding between management levels, and increased communication within the organization (Aguinis, 2013). Strategic human resource management uses performance management to help the organization achieve its goals.

Organizations achieve competitive advantage by managing employees properly (Batool, Rahman, & Akhtar, 2016). It is through effective performance management, organizations like Key Bank are able to receive so many benefits to the betterment of the organization.

PERSONAL STATEMENT TO APPLY FOR OFFICER COMMISSION IN THE NAVY

Personal Statement
– Reason applying for a commission
– Personal and professional goals
– Strengths/personal characteristics you possess which will contribute to success in the program(s) to which you are applying.
Address any other relevant information or substantial accomplishments not already covered.

The heart of leadership is inspiring and provides direction to those put under our charge. The Medical Service Corps is abounding with professionals that serve the Navy this way. It is my desire to join this group of dedicated individuals, and support the deserving beneficiaries of the Military Health System. My ultimate ambition is to steer the financial management of a command, and report directly to the commanding officer on matters of the highest importance as a comptroller.
Throughout my naval career I’ve always given 100%; however, being enlisted, I’m limited on the impact that I can make. I’m driven, and worked tirelessly to enhance myself personally and professionally so that one day I can serve as a Naval Officer. I have well over XXX documented hours working directly with Medical Service Corps Health Care Administrative Officers and with their guidance and knowledge they have shared I have now the tools to be successful.

As a leader, I’m committed to the excellence of the Navy, the mission, and the success of Sailors. Utilizing these skills, which were taught to me by my mentors, I will enhance my Sailors with trust, confidence and patriotism. I will continue to bring fresh and innovative ideas, enthusiasm, and dedication. I have been honored to serve as an Enlisted Sailor and I now would like the opportunity to advance as a member of the Officer community. I respectfully request that the United States Navy Medical Service Corps select me for this prestigious opportunity.

I was born in the US but raised in Nicaragua until the age of 16. My parents are my biggest inspiration seeing them struggle in a poor country but still work hard to provide for us. Instill in me discipline, hard work and value the little things. When I first move to the US I had to learn English on my own to be able to graduate high school on time.

What makes me special? Why should they choose me over the 500 other candidates? 5 minutes of fame make them count.

Personal Letter to Premier Doug Ford on Climate

Personal Letter to Premier Doug Ford on Climate
Personal Letter to Premier Doug Ford on Climate

During the 2018 Ontario election campaign, Progressive Conservative Party leader Doug Ford promised to dismantle the Liberal government’s climate change strategy (https://www.ontariopc.ca/plan_for_the_people).

Following his win in the June 2018 election, Ford has done exactly that, eliminating the province’s cap and trade program to limit greenhouse gas emissions and terminating the GreenON funding programs for everything from building energy efficiency improvements to electric vehicles.

In December 2018 the Ford government released its own environment and climate change plan (https://www.ontario.ca/page/made-in-ontario-environment-plan).

This paper is to write a 1500 word personal letter to the Premier assessing the adequacy of Mr. Ford’s climate change plan. is it enough to ensure that Ontario meets its climate change targets and contributes to Canada meeting its obligations under the Paris Climate Change Accord? Does it present a credible plan of action to reduce emissions? If so why? If not, make an argument to Premier Ford to adopt a more ambitious strategy. What might such a strategy include? Think about environmental, economic and political dimensions of the issue that might provide the foundation for a compelling case for action to Mr. Ford.

Personal Letter to Premier Doug Ford on Climate Evaluation

Papers will be evaluated in terms of 4 Criteria:

  • Research. Your paper should reflect a good understanding of the environmental, economic, and political issues around climate change in Ontario and in the 2018 provincial election. You then need to examine subsequent statements and actions by Mr. Ford’s government on the issue. Be sure to go beyond the Ontario government’s own statements, and to look for comments and analyses that may be critical of the government’s approach and performance.
  • Analysis and Critical Thinking. You will need to assess what actions the Ford government has taken so far, and what has it committed to do on climate change. Does it appear to take the climate change issue seriously? Are the measures it proposes to take adequate to address the problem? What sorts of arguments (environmental, economic or political) might convince Mr. Ford to adopt a more ambitious strategy? What kinds of things should be included in such a strategy? Your analysis should reflect an understanding of the scope of the powers available to the province.
  • Creativity. Use your imagination in thinking about what kinds of arguments might work with Mr.Ford.
  • Style. Style, overall presentation and articulation of argument. Give careful thought about how you want to structure your letter. Full referencing, including in-text citation, is required for the paper

Length

  • 6 Pgs typed double-spaced, excluding references,
