My Humbling Experience and its Impact on my Relations

Several months ago, I had an experience that humbled me into pursuing the DPT program. I had the opportunity of accompanying my grandfather who required post-orthopedic surgery rehabilitation on one of the medical institutions within my region. I noted several people who needed knee surgeries and ankle sprain treatments and whom the organization provided guidance, education, and support to improve the quality of their lives, an aspect that changed my perception in exploring a physical therapy program. I came to the full realization that people, the likes of my grandfather required proper guidance in coping with their medical conditions, with this support only possible when the right knowledge in physical therapy is integrated into practice. This experience humbled me and established a strong desire for me to help other individuals in the society suffering from physical dysfunctions. I am convinced that the pursuit of the DPT program will provide a platform for me to be innovative in the quest for knowledge and in its application in practice, an aspect that would help me in developing efficient approaches of interacting with different patients and peers within the field.

Saint Francis University of Doctor of Physical Therapy Sample Answer

Saint Francis University of Doctor of Physical Therapy

In line with the mission of the Department of Physical Therapy to promote professional practice and development, it is important for a physical therapist to have relevant knowledge and skills to deal with patients. I believe that I possess the requisite personality traits for a successful career in physical therapy.

Communication skills play an important attribute in the career of a physical therapist. Physical therapy involves constant communication with patients, patients’ family members, and colleagues. I am a people-person, capable of interacting with, empathizing, and conveying sensitive information to patients of all ages and from different cultural and social settings.

Intelligibility is another very useful trait for the success of a career in physical therapy. While knowledge acquisition is an ongoing process, the knowledge I acquired through my previous studies is an empirical basis for me to base a patient’s treatment regimen. I am particularly excited to learn more about neuromuscular therapy and utilize the interesting internship opportunities provided by the Department of Physical Therapy.

I am also a great motivator. While it is important to set goals in my paperwork, I also set goals for something that patients wish to obtain. In addition, I am supportive and compassionate in my interactions with patients. I appreciate my ability to maintain control of difficult sessions with a sense of humor, tenderness, and empathy. Last but not least, I am able to maintain a calm demeanor even in the most stressful situations.

I appreciate my good communication, intelligibility, motivational, supportive and compassionate abilities, which I believe will play an important role in the success of my career.

Also, the school provide additional information below which should consider and include in essay. The philosophy behind problem based learning (PBL) is simple: the best way to learn a new concept is to experience it firsthand. At Clarkson, we introduce Doctor of Physical Therapy students to a wide variety of clinical scenarios, some involving “paper patients” and some with real clients. Textbook knowledge is important, but the goal of PBL is to stimulate the development of real-world problem-solving skills. Students are trained to ask three questions: “What do I know?” “What don’t I know?” and “How will I find the answer?”

Doctor of Physical Therapy in Clarkson University and Students in a PBL learning environment:

Know where to find answers, by listening closely to the patient and by searching peer-reviewed journals for the latest and best information.

Ask more and better questions. Their mental framework is higher-level and contextual and reflects better preparation. PBL students can easily frame questions to clarify clinical dilemmas.

Develop lifelong learning skills that allow them to seek answers independently.

Expect and integrate ongoing feedback to improve their professional skills.

Practice evaluation and intervention strategies to experience what patients experience and develop competency under the capable supervision of physical therapists.

See the patient in a broader context and consider the economic and cultural issues that influence intervention and care.

Doctor of Physical Therapy in Clarkson University Sample Answer

Clarkson University, Doctor of Physical Therapy

Question 1: Is PBL an Effective Learning Environment for you?

Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is critical since it contributes to learners thinking actively as they read and are taught content. Therefore, the learners have their ideas about a topic at hand, based on their experiences in the field. Problem-Based Learning is important in physical therapy because it promotes thinking beyond the theoretical content in handling patients’ cases. Teamwork is promoted because therapists have to work with their professional colleagues to ensure positive patient outcomes. The Clarkson University, PBL program ensures that the Doctor of Physical Therapy course learners create a rapport so that there is a group spirit. A teamwork spirit is critical in contributing to the generation of evidence-based ideas in solving patient problems. The Doctor of Physical Therapy at Clarkson University will assist me in gaining the competencies I require to be an exceptional physical therapist.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy at Clarkson University PBL based program guides learners in asking some questions when handling different patient cases. The learner asks “what do I know, what don’t I know, and how will I find answers?” A qualified therapist should possess knowledge on handling the three questions in addressing patient cases. The physical therapist effectively handles the three questions through asking well-framed, clinically relevant concerns to the patients. Through conducting research on vast physical therapy cases, therapists can integrate the information given by the patients in solving physical therapy cases.

The course is also a stepping stone to gaining specific awareness on tactics to intervene and understand patients’ experiences so as to formulate stable plans for patients’ recovery. Through the three questions, physical therapists can also synchronize patient cultures and economic situation in formulating recovery plans. The course content and my experience five years ago will be of great assistance towards attaining a professional physical therapist qualification from Clarkson University. I was involved in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in an injury to my shoulder. My recovery time assisted me in understanding the kinds of physical and mental challenges that patients go through. After my recovery, I made a decision to attain professional skills that would assist individuals that suffer physical dysfunction like I had experienced. The problem-based learning offered at Clarkson University is the best method that I can use in the attaining skills that I need in becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I would thrive through the program because it allows learners to set specific goals and emboldens them to be accountable for their professional decisions.

Question 2: Do you Feel Personal Circumstances have limited your Ability to Participate In Extracurricular or Volunteerism? If Yes, Please Explain

My personal circumstances have limited my ability to participate in volunteerism. I enjoy volunteerism since it contributed to my interest in physical therapy. I was volunteering as an acupuncturist at the time that I met a physical therapist who motivated me to enroll for the doctor of physical therapy (DPT) course. The physical therapist had a specialty in orthopedics, and had through knowledge of the musculoskeletal system. After graduating from acupuncture school, I enrolled to a doctor of physical therapy program. Combining the two fields, acupuncture, and physical therapy was a great idea because the two areas work in sync to giving desirable patient outcomes. I had to stop volunteering for physical therapy because of the extended hours of study and research that I had to invest in the course. I also had to ensure I worked in a paid capacity to support myself economically. Therefore, I cannot continue to volunteer while I study and work.

DYouville Doctor of Physical Therapy Admission Essay Sample Answer

D’Youville Doctor of Physical Therapy Admission Essay

The D’Youville mission statement caught my attention due to its teachings on students’ contribution to the community by leading compassionate, productive, and responsible lives. The valuable experiences at the Burlington Hospital’s inpatient, and outpatient settings helped me realize that interpersonal and problem-solving skills problem-solving skills are critical in examining patients, evaluating symptoms, diagnosing conditions, developing prognoses, and implementing interventions. A physical therapist should be able to communicate with the patients effectively to understand the problems. My aim of becoming a physical therapist is to exercise treatment to return functional parts of the body to their best state through movement.

Five years ago, I had a car accident that led to a shoulder injury. During recovery, I realized that getting help from others facilitates the physical and mental healing process. After the experience, I developed an interest in the health care field because my relative, who was an acupuncturist, influenced me to choose it as a future career.

Towards graduation from acupuncture school, my professor recommended volunteering at a clinic run by one of his friends. Since it occasionally provided acupuncture treatment to patients, I got an opportunity to see how acupuncture and physical therapy can work together efficiently. Therefore, after graduating from acupuncture school, I started preparing to a[pply for the entry level of physical therapy.

Moreover, after working in Alpha Rehab Center for two and a half years, I learned that a physical therapist must have an extensive amount of medical knowledge. For instance, at the clinic, I had the opportunity to work with a patient who was experiencing pain on her elbow’s medial side, and it was easier to apply my medical knowledge. With a special test (the Valgus stress test) and diagnosis of the symptoms (swelling, pain, and tenderness), I determined that she had a medial collateral ligament (MCL) sprain with physical therapist’s confirmation.

While volunteering at the Burlington Hospital inpatient clinic during my acupuncture studies, I observed the therapist with the orthopedic background diagnose this condition. However, I learned that it was a difficult condition to diagnose accurately, even with his vast knowledge of orthopedics and physical therapy. Therefore, diagnosing the condition on my own proved that knowledge, problem solving, and even critical thinking are necessary for finding solutions. The awareness of these skills’ importance encouraged me to study the specialty of orthopedics in physical therapy thoroughly. In achieving that at D’Youville, I plan to take the advanced orthopedic certificate program after completing an entry-level degree in physical therapy. In particular, I am eager to learn spinal manipulation and functional approach to exercise.

With six months of inpatient clinic experience at Burlington Hospital, I have learned that one should master the interpersonal skills to provide optimal patient care. Additionally, they are necessary for respectful interaction with faculty and classmates, productive classroom discussions, and the promotion of proper therapist–patient relationships. Human wellness stems from physical and mental health; therefore, a physical therapist that connects with patients can treat them quickly. Moreover, the patient is likely to provide details about his or her life, which could give clues about the cause of the person’s illness or injury.

Additionally, when I began working in Burlington Convalescent Hospital, a physical therapist encountered a patient experiencing left shoulder pain, but was reluctant in answering the therapist’s questions. However, with my knowledge of a shoulder injury, I understood her discomfort and why she was having a hard time. Therefore, I tried to discuss her situation with understanding and also recognized that she was Korean like me. Due to the mutual communication, she told me about her past and explained the cause of her hospital visit. Through empathy, I built a better relationship with her and consequently noticed that she usually leaned on the left side of her body, which was the cause of her pain. This experience taught me the value of connecting with patients on a personal level rather than only treating their conditions. The DPT program at D’Youville offers specific training that will complement my current skills and develop the ones I currently possess.

After studying the D’Youville website, I was confident that the Interprofessional simulation education (IPE) would strengthen my interpersonal skills and clinical professional confidence for patient care. Moreover, I read the IPE research paper which enhances students’ understanding of professional roles on communication and responsibilities. The simulation used trained actors as patients, and students practiced with other healthcare professionals in a variety of simulation activities utilizing the experience of a real clinic. With the IPE setting, students can practice and learn in a safe environment with professional supervision.

Rather than becoming a physical therapist that merely treats patients, I aspire to give the patients hope and encouragement as well. I firmly believe that the spirit of St. Marguerite D’Youville, its mission statement, and the DPT program nourish knowledge, social skills, and professionalism that will prepare me to be a leader who contributes to the world community.

Dear Mr. /Mrs.

As determined in this application, a Degree of M.A Practical Theology would be impactful in both my personal, spiritual and professional goals. The degree will equip me with the required skills and competencies that would aid me in becoming a holistic leader in ministry. This is primarily attributed to the fact that I will gain knowledge and understanding of the theological principles as they relate to leadership, a factor that will provide me with the capacity to engage in cultural, social and global ministry. Additionally, this degree will impact my professional and personal growth, a process that will enhance my intellectual, ministerial and spiritual formation. In this case, the knowledge gained during this period will be helpful in my life since it will impact my leadership skills and abilities in different ministerial positions.

The primary rationale for choosing regent as the place to pursue my degree is in consideration of the fact that this theological institution offers sound knowledge on theological education. On the other hand, Regent is effective in training and nurturing servant leadership in students, a factor that aids in the development of Christian leaders. These factors, therefore, point to my reasons for choosing Regent as the only institution that would impact my pursuit of a degree in this field.

In consideration of my academic and ministerial accomplishments, it is important to consider the fact that they have been impactful in preparing me for this program. It is first important to consider the fact that the nature of my calling remains one of the essential factors that contributed to my preparation for this program. Several of my capstone papers during my diploma programs were beneficial since they primarily focused on Christina leadership. The leadership classes and my full engagement in leadership within different Christian organizations impacted my knowledge and prepared me for this program. Most of my classes were also tied to the basics and foundations of theology, a factor that enacted my understanding of this program prior to this application.

One of the essential aspects that also prepared me for this program was the engagement in missions within the ministry I serve. The missions provided me with an in-depth understanding of the aspect of ministry and the need for getting equipped through education in order to be effective in the field. I had a complete understanding of different cultures and the need for understanding different cultural elements in ministry. This knowledge, therefore, prepared me for this program.

Lastly, I would also consider my engagement in different ministries within our organization as another factor that prepared e for this program. Within these ministries, it came to my understanding that there is a need for getting equipped in order to meet their spiritual needs. As a leader in the youth ministry, I noted that youths are specialized in different areas, and needed a leader who would identify with some of the challenges they encounter within their areas of specialization. In this case, this element prompted the need to pursue the education in order to be relevant to the spiritual needs of these individuals. These factors, therefore, denote the elements that drove my desire to pursue knowledge in this field. I herein look forward to hearing from you.

Yours Sincerely

Infrastructure as a service published by Gartner

Gideon Garner discovered Gartner magic quadrant at a research convention in Stamford, Connecticut. Gideon was famous for “Stalking Horses” and believed in experiments that promoted creativity. In one of the conventions, an analyst demonstrated a novel technology, a time when Gideon stood up and drew a quadrant containing two axes. He did not intend the quadrant to be published. In the 1990s, the quadrant officially evolved and currently, there are some Magic Quadrants for industries such as defined Firewalls (Dayley et al., 2014).

Nevertheless, Gartner magic quadrant is a widely debated device for selecting products in IT sector. Critics allege that it is not only simple and subjective but also blind spots. Regardless, of these criticisms, vendors, as well as IT managers, continue to support it; vendors support Gartner magic quadrant once they are chosen managers while IT leaders when they use it in short-listing vendors.

Gartner magic quadrant is useful such that it has two axes; horizontal and vertical. The horizontal part is a depiction of product attributes and innovative improvements persuading vendors to respond to the change while keeping up with the speed. On the other hand, the vertical part is the capacity to implement, which is determined by the number, revenue and quality of distributors, the number of workers and their allocation to support, marketing, and other departments. Much as Gartner Magic Quadrant is a useful tool, it should be based on the total understanding of research as well as the analysts so as to get full benefits. In addition, analysts can use this tool to promote a given agenda. Analysts are not simply researchers; they play the role of seeing the direction of a sector and bring it to the right course that focuses on the requirements of Gartner customer base or simply large entities.

Admission letter seeking to upgrade grades

I am writing this letter seeking to gain admittance to the Physical Therapy program that commences in the Summer of 2016. In my Fall semester at California State University Dominguez Hill, I took six classes which are Bio 386, HIS 101, KIN 301, KIN 360, KIN 464, and SBS 318. The unofficial transcript is attached to this letter. I also took one class at Los Angeles City College (LACC) which is General Chem II. The transcript of this class is also attached herein. At the moment, I am taking Hum 310 in Winter semester at California State University Dominguez Hill which I expect to complete on January 22, 2016.  I will then update the grade as soon as it released and posted.

Before getting the Summer 2016 admission to the Physical Therapy class at LLU, I recently found out during the Fall semester that a student is now required to first take General Physics sequence. I have not taken the General Physics sequence in this or the previous semesters. This is because I made a mistake and did not remember to confirm all the relevant information pertaining to admission to the Physical Therapy class at LLU starting Summer of 2016. I thought it was the same as the last year 2014 when I look at Transfer Patterns category under Entry-Level Doctor category in Physical Therapy section on LLU website. As such, I did not realize the fact that one of the conditions for taking Physical Therapy program at LLU is to first take the General Physics sequence, and this is why I did not take the General Physics sequence class in the first place during this or the previous semesters.

However, soon after realizing that taking the General Physics sequence is a must for pursuing the Physical Therapy program at LLU, I immediately registered for General Physics sequence and I am scheduled to take them at California State University Dominguez Hill during Spring 2016. Even though satisfying all the prerequisites of the Physical Therapy program just before the program commences in Summer 2016 may not present a really good impression, it is actually far better than failing to meet the requirements at all. I will ensure that I do my very best to obtain good and satisfactory results. In addition, I will soon update that after getting an experience working at Glendale Memorial Hospital, an in-patient hospital, where I work as a volunteer. I always have a great experience every day working in this physical therapy clinic.

I really want to pursue the Physical Therapy program offered at LLU as the knowledge which I would obtain throughout this program would enable me to effectively help many patients and clients in terms of carrying out proper physical exercises to improve their health and sustain good health. For instance, I may utilize the knowledge obtained from this program to educate patients on the importance of exercises. Furthermore, as a result of pursuing Physical Therapy program at LLU starting Summer of 2016, I will know how to modify an exercise depending on the client’s body condition in order to relieve patient symptoms and reduce pain. On the whole, seeing patients feeling better and recovering as a result of the physical therapy and exercises which I offer them gives me much pleasure at the workplace. I strongly believe that Loma Linda will make me a better and stronger person not just physically and emotionally, but also spiritually. Engaging in physical exercises and training is very important. The scriptures state that “while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way” (1 Timothy 4:8) (New International Version, 2014). I will do my best to meet all the requirements particularly the physical therapy sequence before the Physical Therapy program starts.

Appealing Admission Letter

Dear Sir/Madam

It is my pleasure to apply for major of Physical therapy for the second time at Loma Linda University. I believe that the institution has the resources and the capabilities to enable me to achieve my goals. The first time I applied, I was still studying at Acupuncture school and was about to graduate. At the time, I was also working full time in Physical therapy clinic. I have now graduated from school. The graduation was held in June this year.

The motivation to apply for Physical therapy is my desire to acquire advanced skills and knowledge to impact positively on society. I also noticed that the medical course I studied in Acupuncture school was not enough to enable me to render quality services to patients. The opportunity, therefore, will help me have confidence in myself as I provide care to different patients. Furthermore, my own experience at a health facility has motivated me to seek more skills and knowledge in this field. When I was admitted in a health care after experiencing shoulder and neck pain, the services I received satisfactory service. The care was awesome and I feel motivated and encouraged to pursue my studies and help many other people. These are some of the reasons and motivation for my quest to be part of Loma Linda University.

Currently, I am working under a physical therapist who graduated from Loma Linda. This working relationship has enabled me to learn many aspects concerning Loma Linda University. I am a believer, worshiping at an Adventist church and I take issues of faith seriously. The university as well is built on strong religious faith that matches well with my spiritual belief. Therefore, I am eager to pursue my studies in an institution that respects people religious beliefs  hence , will continue to strengthen my religion beliefs.

I am also taking 18 units in California State University, Domingoez Hill and 5 units in Los Angeles Community College which are one of the prerequisites for Loma Linda University.  I work 20 hours a week in Physical Therapy clinic. In addition, every Saturday, I attend worship in Olympic Seventh-day Adventist Church and do 2 hours volunteer work for serving a food and cleaning the church. I am doing my best to get good results that will get me an admission to Loma Linda University.

In this winter, I plan to participate in Glendale Memorial hospital as in-patient hospital for volunteering. Moreover, in spring semester in 2016, I would finish a course which is upper division of humanity class.

In the future, I would like to help and cure patients during my whole life. In addition, I am willing to help people who cannot get proper treatment in many countries. Now, I feel great about helping patients in the clinic and I would like to devote to helping patients throughout my life.

Getting an opportunity to pursue the major at the University will be received with joy and gratitude. I believe that I have an obligation to help the society to achieve quality health. The university has adequate resources and has conducive working environment that will shape me to the person I wish to be (Carr, Pastor & Levesque, 2015).

I have numbered the posts 1-2-3-4-5-6 Can you please write at least 100 words or little over relevant content to these posts in your with own words. If you
find any research with references and citations, it will be great also. These are discussion post , perhaps you do not need to answer each line just follow
important context from the post to make comments, your own thoughts, own knowledge and probing question that move the conversation forward. Thanks!!!
(1) The threats to internal validity are ?experimental procedures, treatments, or experience of the participants threaten the researcher?s ability to draw
correct inferences from the data in an experiment, changing the control group participants under the study (Moskal & Lydens, 2014, p. 352).? This can be
a threat from the information collected and the tools to collect it. The external validity threatens the experience when the researcher determines that has
been implications from the sample data to other people. A statistical threat happens when the researcher gets inaccurate conclusions from the data because of
a disruption in the statistical test being used for collected data.
(2)Reliability is the capacity of individual researchers to arrive at like deductions employing similar experimental strategies or contributors in an
investigation to time and again generate the identical measurement. Validity is the capacity of a tool to determine what it is expected to determine.
Internal validity is the accuracy of the research and how well it was created and managed. External validity is the research’s capacity to have the findings
simplified to the specific group. This can be done by randomizing the selection, use selective techniques such as stratified or snowball sampling (Lowhorn,
2017).
(3) Validity in quantitative research is the measure of how well the research represents the concept it is measuring (Roberts, Priest and Traynor,2016). It
is an important measure as the sample of participants needs to represent an entire population of people not just those in the study. The results need to be
applicable to more than just those in the study to make the study worthwhile for evidence based practice.
(4) It is important to protect the integrity (or validity) of a study so it can be used as evidenced based practice. It is important to solve problems ahead
of time with a plan that considers the ?recruiting practice, collecting data in a consistent way, and maintaining research controls according to the study
design? in order for the research to not be delayed or threatened.
(5) If either reliability or validity is not achieved in qualitative research, evidence-based practice cannot be used whether is it because of bias or
research design. The reason being that if the results are
questionable they cannot be used as support for evidence based practice.
(6) Qualitative research explains an occurrence in its normal surroundings. It is a subjective method to inspect life as it exists as well as an effort to
justify the research findings behavior. Anthropological and ethnographic approaches are used for research. Qualitative research strives to make clear an
existing condition and only explains that condition for that specific population. This is done in the field except for a focus type group. It also strives to
come up with a theory that clarifies the observed behavior (Lowhorn, 2017). Reliability is the capacity to replicate the outcomes. Internal validity is
instinctively determined because the group acts as its own point of reference. External validity is not found in the customary way. Validity for qualitative
research is rigorous, credible, and trustworthy (Lowhorn, 2017).
